Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Android app

Hi Kerry and Wayne,

I'm really sorry - it seems your email address was translated wrongly when I shared it with Keith, our Android developer so you didn't get the beta test email.

Having said that, you can now download the app from this link

As ever your feedback is most appreciated, and sorry again for the confusion.

Topic: Site Development / Add Multiple Diary Entries

An alternative would be if the meter software gives a decent enough export (XML,Csv, json etc) then we might be ale to select file uploads which parse the output and create a bunch of entries. We just need to understand what comes out of the software that Guy mentioned.

Hello Simon,

I thought it might be a good idea if we could import/upload an export from PC software although I realize that if this is dome some data could not be populated ie CPs, injection site etc. But would still be helpful

Thanks
Guy

Hi Guy, whats the software, and what format does it use as upload material?

Hi all,

Sorry about this - made some layout updates to the site and it seems I broke the multiple entries form. Should be working again now - let us know if not.

Geoff: thinking about it you're right, there is a standard 1.5 CP suggested for a hypo which we probably dont need to adjust manually, so its just the BG:QA ratio which is needed.

I like the idea Geoff, and think it's the right way to go. I thought taking 1 CP was meant to raise your BG by 2-3, so your CP:BG ratio is needed?

I note that autocalc still doesnt function correctly. If you are concerned at litigation why not make it function in a sensible manner but set it so that you have to overtype it or else it defaults as a null value when you save.

Geoff can you elaborate on your comment regarding 'litigation' ? what do you mean by this.

Litigation = getting sued. I'm not normally one for saying no to new feature requests as I want the app/site to be the best they can be. That said, in this age of 'no win no fee' PI claims, and the fact that we are a very small group of people working on this without profit in our spare time, I don't want to set us up as a target of a lawsuit. Having said that, if we could come up with a solution which implemented this function, and protected us from getting sued, I'd get working on it straight away.

So if anyone has ideas on how to protect us and add this feature then let me know Smile

The oil is probably in the chocolate surrounding it - you can get varieties without choc so they might be slightly faster acting.

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Feedback from Android beta testing

Glad to see there's been some constructive discussion on this already. Thanks to Keith for all of his efforts so far, and our beta testers for their efforts in providing speedy feedback.

On the correction dosage calculation, the DAFNE guidelines state that 1 extra IU will bring down your BG by 2-3 mmol/l, which is quite a large range, and could mean the difference between having a hypo or not. As app developer I didn't want to set myself up as a target for any legal action in case the app was seen to be giving medical advice which then caused somebody to have a hypo.

That said, after reviewing this discussion I think that if we implemented smethingsimilar to novorapidvoi's patient 1 and 2 examples above, then it will lessen the risk of legal action as the users are still choosing the numbers themselves. I'll investigate the iPhone app and see how easy it would be to do.

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Android app

Hi all,

We're in need of some beta testers for the Android app, which works on Android 2.1+ As testers you'd be required to feed back on the following things
  • Does the app crash (+when)
  • Is it user friendly
  • What could be improved

Please also note that as it is a pre-release version, it may be buggy and have the occasional crash, so be prepared for this.

The idea is that we would send you over the beta version, give you a week to play with it, and then ask for your feedback after the week has passed.

If you feel you can help out, and would be willing to provide feedback, drop me an email at [email protected]

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Daphne online will not load on my iphone

Hi Ian,

The app should be working with your version of the iPhone operating system - it should have generated some crash reports which I'd be grateful if you could share them with me.

Here's how to get them:

If you could send me all of the DAFNE Online***.crash ones to [email protected] I'll try and figure out the problem.

Thanks,

Simon

Ian - can you let us know which operating system version you are using? If you don't know how, go to Settings > General > About then let us know what the Version box says.

The latest version of the app (1.5) is now on the app store - fixing some bugs, as well as giving you the ability to store your own carb portion info (see the + button on the top right hand corner of the carbs list)

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Bugs in using the iPhone App

Hi,

When you enter the ratio make sure you press the done button on the keyboard before pressing the done button in the top left hand corner, otherwise the ratio won't be saved. I've just tried it out and it saved my 1.5:1. If you still get this after pressing the done button on the keyboard, then let me know which entry type you're doing it for, and also which version of the app you're on.

The app does calculate using the ratios from specify targets, so if it's swapping the ratios around again can you let me know which entry type you're doing this for, and I'll try and reproduce it so that I can fix it.

Thanks,

Simon
