This has flagged up a few problems with the existing implementation. I haven't looked much at the Australian carbs lit so didn't know how different it was. As a first stage I'll add that info into the app (I can't have 2 versions in different app stores) and add the ability to switch between the two. Perhaps even some clever country detection mechanism, but that might be pushing it a bit.

Regarding the portion sizes, I take your point that there isn't any one consistent mechanism, however broadly speaking there are two types of carb entries - those with portion information, and those with CP info for a specific weight/volume. So as there's only 2 types of carb entries, I'm sure I could come up with a way to add an entry to a plate by either number of portions or weight/volume depending on the type.

Looking at let you guys add your own carb info, this would be fine in the app - the only problem is if you wanted to sync to the site - it would potentially create a lot of duplication of entries, which at some point have to be verified by the DAFNE Dieticians, and as they have limited time it may not get done.

These are my brief thoughts on the matter - happy to take feedback / ideas on how to overcome the issues described, and I'll be tacking them in the order I've written them down, so that the Oz DAFNE Graduates can get their CP list in the app as soon as possible.

Thanks for your positive comments - I'll let Apple know that we deserve some commission on iPhone sales ;)

Anyway, regarding your problem, if you check the settings page you'll see a Normal Bedtime entry. This allows you to specify a cut off time for the diary to put entries in the same day. It's useful because if you normally go to bed after midnight for example, your bedtime entry won't appear in the correct day If you set this to 0200, it will (provided you go to bed before 2am!)

Hope this fixes things for you - regarding the Carbs List I think people are just asking for updates to the existing functionality.

Hi all, need your help/advice again.

After a brief iPhone development break whilst we upgraded the DAFNE Online servers, I'm working on the next update again. The first new bit of functionality I'm putting in is the creation of a meal - adding carbs to a 'plate' to count total CPs. First question - whilst you're looking at Carb information in the app, how do you want to add that info to the meal? Buttons with predefined amounts? Or a text box? Any other ideas?

Hi all,

Just to let you know, we'll be upgrading our servers sometime soon (in the next week) - we'll aim to do this at night (UK time) to avoid inconvenience for the majority of users, however the process may take up to 24 hours. When the upgrade is in progress there will be a notice on the site, and you won't be able to access your diary, the forums or other features.

The reason for this is that we need to provide a faster and more robust service for our users - so the downtime is necessary.

Further to Mark's news post, I'd just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you all enjoy the festive season to the fullest - not wanting to encourage bad behaviour but I for one shall be eating and drinking too much, and hope you all do too Smile

To echo Mark's comments, we have doubled in size from 2126 to over 4700 users in the past year which is testament to the hard work by the DAFNE Educators and Central Management team so a big thank you to those guys for supporting us.

But, first and foremost - thanks to you, the users - without your participation in the forums, requests for new features and problem finding, DAFNE Online wouldn't be a success - so thank you to you all so much!

Thanks for your positive feedback. We've had lots of requests for adding your own carb info / creating plates so we'll focus on adding this to the app in the new year.

If you find out what causes the app to crash then let us know, unfortunately it's hard to pin it down unless we know what's causing it.

The latest version of the app is now live on the app store, with the following improvements:

* Improved keypad entry, so that you don't end up hitting the keypad when entering this information.

* Ability to enter Ketones (these are uploaded to the site with the rest of the entry info)

* You can now enter corrective doses at +8, as per John's request above. This will still be stored as 0+8, so as to remain compatible with the site diary.

Keep the suggestions coming, and remember to review / rate the app if you haven't!

Also we've prevented mobile users from creating entries for the same time, so you shouldn't have anymore repeated entries as you currently have above.

As a non-pump user I don't know what you guys have to record - feel free to let me know and can see how easy it would be to add to the site/app.

Your suggestions sound good, and I'll be updating the app soon, need to focus on the site at the moment and we've got to migrate our servers, but new stuff will be in the app soon!
