Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Updated iPod App issue Hi all - the override problems are now fixed in the latest version, available on the app store. Thanks for your patience in waiting for this fix.Rob - regarding the settings, it may be that we can do something with iCloud to sync them, I'll do some investigation. |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Please all update to version 1.6.1 - I've fixed the issues regarding overriding the suggested dose, as well as provided the ability to specify whether the app corrects to 0.5 or 1. Also fixed some issues around the saving of comments.Rich - yep I'll put this into a later version. Thanks for your patience whilst waiting for me to fix this! |

Topic: Site Development / App update bugs Damn, you're all right! I was trying it out on 1.6.1 and not 1.6 and the comments do disappear as your describe. Needless to say it's been fixed in 1.6.1 along with the other issues; I submitted the update to the app store on Sunday so hopefully it will be available soon - I'll let you all know when it is. |

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Updated iPod App issue Hi Rob,Thanks for your praise - always nice to hear. Next, the negative corrections that you mention are being worked on now - so won't be in this update but will be in the next. You should be able to enter a ratio of 2.8:1 in the diary entry and specify targets screens, does this not work for you? What happens when you enter 2.8:1? You'll also be getting the 0.5 unit correction values in the upcoming update ![]() Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hmm it seems I should've given the app to you guys to break before releasing on the app store![]() Seriously though, thanks for reporting the issues, I'll try and fix them over the weekend. It seems I've made it a bit over zealous with the amount of times it recalculates things so will reduce that too. On the topic of storing default ratios, as you've already said you can enter these on the settings tab. These are linked to the entry types, so you can specify different ratios for each of your meals. When you create/update an entry, the ratio is looked up from the entry type. This lookup happens when you first add an entry and also whenever you update the entry type, so if you manually enter a ratio then change the type this might overwrite your first ratio. Hope this helps clear things up. |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hi everyone, thanks for all your input so far. iOS users can now upgrade to version 1.6 from the app store, which contains this auto-calculate functionality (amongst other new bits) with both option 1 (called Simple) and 2 (banded) as described by podacris above. As always, let me know what you think, and more importantly if there's any issues that you can see with the calculation (there's only so much testing a man can do!) |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right I'll go with the consensus on this one - if at the moment people use novorapidboi's method by applying one qa:BG ratio to the whole correction dependent on the current BG then I'll go with that, whereas if people use the banded method that Podacris describes then ill go with that. The aim of this is to aid people in their own calculations, rather than forcing a new (and potentially not well understood method) on them, which could be dangerous. |

Topic: Site Development / Targets range Yep, Alan is right... The targets set in the app and site are separate... In the future I will try and sync target settings in the app up to the site as well. |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hi Novorapid,What are the 4 correction factors you use? Currently you specify a normal correction factor (QA:BG ratio) and then add overrides which specify a BG range or time range to use a different QA:CP ratio. Cheers |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hi Phil,Great sample - just what I needed. You'll be pleased to know the app calculated the correction correctly (+4 as it always rounds down for safety) If anyone wants to supply more test data like the above it would be most appreciated. Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hi novorapid, here's a sample that one of our users has already sent in:Current BG 15.3 Target minimum BG 5.5 Target maximum BG 7.5 % of where to aim for in target range (50% is in the middle of the range) 33.33% QA:BG ratio (how much you expect your BG to lower given 1 unit of QA Insulin) 1:0.61 Expected dosage after calculation +15 |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right I'm pretty much cracked this for the iPhone app - just need some help with some test data to make sure that it's working properly... Here's where you all come in!If you want to help with some test data, all I need is a table with the following inputs, and expected corrective input:
If you do want to help then please email a spreadsheet or similar with the above info to [email protected] |

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / QA Calc Problem + Related enhancment requests Hi Rich,Thanks for your feedback. 1 should be pretty easy to add/fix so will work on that first. 2 is a bit more in depth so will take longer to do, but I'll put it on the (ever growing) to do list. Cheers, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right I've started work on this and have come across another question: if for example my before bed target was 6.5-8 mmol/l, and I was aiming for 50% of the range between them (7.25 mmol/l) and I'd input a qa:BG lowering ratio of 2.5, there is an opportunity for the calculation to aim for below the minimum target, as follows:If my BG here was 8.5, the calculation would be (8.5-7.25) / 2.5 = 0.5 which would be rounded up to a correction dose of 1, which if taken should bring the BG down to 6 which is below the minimum target range. At the moment in these circumstances ive got it taking 1 from the correction dose, but think it may be better to always round down the correction for safety reasons. What do people think (if you managed to follow my calculations!)? |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Thanks for your responses so far..Stew - yes it will be defaulted to off, and people will also need to agree to a disclaimer before turning it on. It seems there is a need for a few variables: 1. First of all, the point in your target range the app aims for, so this could be changed using a slider to favour the top or bottom of the range. 2. Secondly, different correction factors for different times of day and/or different BG levels. With this I propose setting a general 'expected correction' setting which would be used unless users put in specific overrides e.g. for BG above 13mmol/l or for specific times of day. One question here is should it be done on entry type (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) or a specific time range? Are there any thoughts on the above? |
