Topic: Questions for HCPs / The Mini Pill, Menstrual Cycle and BI Sorry. My phone is being very stupid and my home net connection is non-existent right now. -_-;;When I came off the pill, I still didn't know my cycle stuff but I knew it was likely to be late based on my early teen period years before the pill. With this I did try just trying to catch a pattern but found I couldn't keep up. I'm currently using a family planning phone app so I know what is going to happen. Are you able to do this too to see if it's any help? You say your on a pill safer for an older age group. You're not old enough to be menipausal at all? That may be something else to consider. Whatever happens, best wishes. |

Topic: Questions for HCPs / The Mini Pill, Menstrual Cycle and BI Hi Theresaz,It is great to know you managed to get your ches sorted out... and upset for you because the pattern is now messed up. I was on a pill before but came off it because I generally wasn't happy on it. However, I do recall my body messing me around with irregular bleeding and the like, but I also recall the doc letting me know that it would eventually calm down. I have a copper cuoil now and I don't plan to look back. When I came off the pill () |

Topic: General Discussion / Logging Pump and Meter Readings I dont pump, but I use the freestyle InsulinX which records all the information I need, however I still write it down on paper, this helps me spot patterns and allows me to quickly enter it in the online diary here at DAFNE Online...So your pump cant export its information? If that is the case, extracting information will need to be done manually anyway, no? |

Sorry - no i can't export pump readings (not that i know of) and the meter readings are exported to their own software which with a lot of playing i can eventually export to a .csv file but thats really more long-winded than manually entering it! It would be ok if i didn't need BG and doses in the same spreadsheet! |

Topic: General Discussion / Logging Pump and Meter Readings Yeah I think i might too! Under each time on the spreadsheet i have 4 cells - BG, CHO, Bolus, Basal. I test about 10 times a day (i know - i'm a control freak ) My pump is a medtronic minimed paradigm and with the amount of doses i give myself it only saves about 3 or 4 days worth of readings. I could stop eating as much but at 7.5 stone i don't really want to or need to :-) I'll keep searching but in the mean time it will have to be manual entries.![]() |

Topic: General Discussion / Street Food Hi - i know it's easier said than done but its not something you should feel embarassed or awkward about! When i injected (I'm on a pump now) my only concern was getting bumped into while doing it (always did it in my stomach) So the only thing i did was to find somewhere "safe" to do it. I'd just move to the side of the street or just a little away from the bustling market area....Make sure you put your health first over what people might think - inject when you need to not when you think no one is looking. Good luck and be brave - your health is the most important thing![]() |

Topic: General Discussion / Logging Pump and Meter Readings think you might struggle to find something that does what you want.........what information do you use? I would assume your BG info is on top of the list, then your bolus doses..............these 2 would be needed to make accurate dose changes.......... what pump are you on, I know the accu check model has a meter with it, which might make the joining of BG readings [which can only come from a meter] and the rest of the information, that in your case is stored on the pump...... Can you export both the meter and pump into separate spreadsheets, if so, in theory, it could just be a case of copy and paste.......... |

Topic: General Discussion / Logging Pump and Meter Readings It records BG and bolus given, time etc (and the usual bolus and basal settings) at the moment i have to manually enter the pump readings every few days (i like to eat and snack so i tend to use up it's memory space quickly!) My meter i can download into the Bayer website using their software but i would still have to manually enter it (or go through a process which takes twice as long to automate it) to the spreadsheet i use that is created by my hospital.![]() |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Galaxy Caramel I've just 'rescued' a Galaxy Caramel from the machine in our canteen, for research purposes you understand![]() For the 48g bar it works out 28-29g carb, rounded to 3CPs I love this kind of learning (as long as I remember my QA ![]() |

Topic: General Discussion / Logging Pump and Meter Readings Hi - i use an insulin pump and regularly send my pump and meter readings to my nurses. Does anyone know of a software program or something where i can download my meter readings (contour USB) easily into the same spreadsheet as i enter my pump readings (which has BG range higlighters, basal rates etc) Manually entering everything every few days is very time consuming!!![]() |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Galaxy Caramel I've just looked up the Galaxy site. A 135g Galaxy Caramel bar has 60g of carbohydrate in every 100g of the bar, so that's 1.35 x 60 = 81g of carbohydrate in the whole bar. I didn't check, but I'm fairly sure the 60/100 ratio will be the same for any size of Galaxy Caramel bar so a similar calculation will give you the cho value for any bar. If you don't see where I get any of these figures from, please don't be afraid to ask. |

Topic: General Discussion / new year Don't worry. You are not. My results were a little adrift but not too bad. A few correctives needed at times like QA +5 on Christmas day evening![]() Regards Garry |
