Topic: General Discussion / App Hi Caroline,The app stores all entries that you input natively on to the phone, thus you wouldn't be able to share the app with your daughter without seeing each other's entries. In terms of uploading to the site, the app will log in as the user you save in the settings page, and upload any changes since the last upload to that user account. Theoretically you could put your username/password in, then add an entry, then put your daughter's username and password in and do the same. This would show both entries in the app, but you would only see your own entries when you logged in to the site. Having said that, this is quite long winded and there is a lot of scope for problems so I wouldn't recommend it. Sorry I can't be the bringer of better news. Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi Chaps,I've put this on my to-do list for the next diary update, and I'll also look to getting it integrated to the graphs functionality too. Can you list the measures that you'd like to store? (I already have HBA1C, Cholesterol... any more?) Simon |

Topic: General Discussion / You can now subscribe to topics! Hi all,We've released a new feature where you can subscribe to topics. All subscribers of a topic will receive an email notification when a reply to that topic is posted. You can subscribe/unsubscribe to a topic by clicking the link underneath the topic's title. By default, you will automatically be subscribed to topics which you create, or post to. To stop this auto-subscription, visit the Settings page, and click Change Profile. The option you need is at the bottom of that settings page. This adds flexibility to the forums, allowing you to pick and choose which topics you get notified about - and now you don't even need to post on a topic to receive notifications about it! Let us know if you have any feedback / enhancement requests. Simon |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed As a further addition in support of Mark's comments if anyone has experience developing for the platforms that Jez mentioned, and would like to offer their assistance then please get in touch. As mentioned we do this all off our own back, and in our spare time hence the sporadic nature of our updates - so any assistance is gratefully received!Simon |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Hi all,As you can see from Thunderbolt's post we have just released the latest app update (1.2) with the following new features: Diary summary drill-down - Click on one of your Blood Glucose (BG) averages to see your averages for different entry types. Auto dosage calculation for Quick Acting (QA) insulin - In the settings tab, set 'Auto Calculate QA' to On, and you can specify the ratio you wish to use in the calculation in the Targets section. After entering CP information, the QA dosage will automatically be calculated and saved in the entry. Let us know if you have any comments or suggestions. Also - if you like the app please rate it on the App Store. Thunderbolt - yep I'll look into doing that for the next app version. Simon |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Hi Thunderbolt,Fair point about the site not reflecting the same bedtime as the app - I'm focusing on getting the app stable at the moment (we may have some good news on the in-app carb counting too so watch this space). With a busy day job schedule this means not much time to update the site. Rest assured it is our plan to release a new (better looking) version of the site in the not too distant future, with enhanced diary and other features. On the auto-populate for BI, is there anything I can do to improve it for you? Simon |

Topic: DUAG Committee / First draft of DUG letter Mark/Peter - on the handling of documents have you considered using Google Docs (documents.google.com) - you can version files and protect them there and Google has slightly more hosting space than us ;) |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed A question for you guys - how do you want the app to populate the BI value? There's a couple of ways that I can think of:1. Add a field to each of the entry types in the target page, allowing you to specify the default BI for that time of day 2. The app can automatically look up your last used BI for that entry type and populate the field with that Any thoughts on the above options? |

Topic: General Discussion / Mystery!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi novorapidboi, have you tried upping you ratio at lunchtime to 2:1? The rise from Lunch to the next reading seems to be pretty consistent in how much it goes up (for the last 2 days anyway) |

Topic: General Discussion / loosing the plot! Hi tsavage - first of all I've moved this topic to the General forum, as you'll get more exposure there.Secondly, if you take a look at the forums there is a lot of mention of the 'Dawn Phenomenon', which you may be experiencing on 11/09 where your blood sugars are massively high. What was the 0.5CP at 01:55? Did you take any background insulin then as well? You don't seem to be recording when you take that - it may be that you need to up your dose of that if you are high in the morning. Thirdly - the no symptoms of a hypo before 1.8 mmol/l is a bit of a worry - you should really speak to your DAFNE Educators/Specialist Nurses to help you get back your warning signs as they should be appearing before 1.8 mmol/l Fourthly - you don't mention how long you have been diabetic - is it possible that you are still honeymooning? It's a lot more difficult to predict BG trends if you are in the honeymoon phase. Sorry I can't give you a more definite answer - others may be able to based on their own experiences, however there are so many variables with diabetes - for me it just tends to be trial and error. Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Thunderbolt - thanks for your technical support, we can't monitor the site 24/7 so keep up the good work![]() "Further to the start/end day idea, would it be better to have a button - if that's the right word - to start or end a days entry?" This would be quite difficult to implement, based on my knowledge of how the data is stored in the iPhone, however as an interim I can put in the option to set the 'Start/End of day' setting so you can specify that for all entries. I'll investigate to see if there is a more long-term solution as you have suggested above. |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Hi both,I usually go to bed quite late so can identify with this too. I've just submitted the latest update to the app store for approval so this won't be in that version, however should hit the next one. If I'm right - you're after a setting the say when the 'day' starts and ends - so in the settings part you could enter a time, then the diary would be grouped by periods of that time? On the BI remembering - yep good idea, I'll put it on the list for the next version too. Simon |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed I'm just working on the summary report for the BG, and have a question - does the TDD include corrective doses of QA? The handbook seems unclear and just gives the formula Total QA + Total BI in a day...I've never had to calculate my own TDD so haven't come across this before. |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Thunderbolt - Glad you got it sorted in the end. I only built the app with support for IPhone OS Version 4 (the latest) but it should work in OS 3 and later, so with the next update I'll add in support for OS version 3. (OS = Operating System for those who don't know). On Dr. Jez's response - the DAFNE paper diary has CP, BQ, QA then BI so I wanted to keep entry consistent with that. Dr. Jez - All good ideas and I'll put them on the to-do list. The BG diary improvements should make it into the next update, which I'm working on now. I'm holding off on the CP ones for a bit until DAFNE Central let us know whether we can use the DAFNE Carbs list in the app or not. One point on the entry of information - if the app uses a keyboard rather than the picker wheels which are in there at the moment we can only use apple's standard keyboards. The one I'd suggest for entering BG, CP etc would be the Numbers and Punctuation one, as we need the plus and minus keys available to show correction doses. To see what this looks like, open up a text message and press the 123 button in the bottom left of the keyboard. If this sounds OK, then let me know. |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Iphone Apps Hi Brian - thanks, some constructive comments there. I'd be interested to hear other users thoughts on how the data is inputted - happy to go with the majority on the best way to input things. In the next update I'll add something to allow you to map times of day to entry types.Karl - thanks, it was too late to get that change into this version, but will be fixed in the next update. Keep the feedback coming! |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Iphone Apps On Mark2's comment - couldn't agree more. The carbs list is available for free on the site, and at the end of the DAFNE course in paper form, we're just trying to make it as accessible as possible for everyone. Hopefully we can resolve this and make it free to all, we'll keep you posted. |
