Topic: Site Development / Meter Upload Development I think the best thing to do would be to make entries keyed on the date and time (so that there could only be one for each minute of the day, say). That way we could overwrite/update any duplicate entries to maintain consistency with the database on the meter. Not sure how COM/Serial ports work so can't advise I'm afraid! Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Meter Upload Development I think the proprietary protocols are an example of the mercenary nature of drug companies - it's all about making money unfortunately. The software/cables are often paid for somewhere along the line (even if we the end users get them free) so the companies are reluctant to share their protocols/apis with third parties as they could produce rival software which then eats into the companies profits. Also, everyone thinks they are doing things the 'right' way and don't want to change to conform with other products/standards. As mark says, its not the blood glucose meter market that this is affected by, but most of IT.Anyways, moan over ![]() If there's anything we can do to help in the meantime just give us a shout. Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi John,This is most strange - can you let me know the date within your diary that this happens for? Would probably be easier if I deal with individual issues via email so get in touch with me at [email protected] or send me a private message on the site. If anyone else had experienced this though please post here. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Site just updated to ensure users don't add diary entries for the future. If anyone does need the site to support premonitions/other psychic skills then let me know!(If only I could 'predict' an HBA1c of 6.5%....) Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi John,Interestingly you have entries stored for 8th November (not October) - these are the latest you have stored and so they are the ones that are being picked up. Did you enter November instead of October for these dates? Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi John,Am a bit confused here - do you want to see the last set of entries for your diary on the multiple entry page, or see a form to enter data at the top of the diary view. There's a third option to make things easy here - a link to adding multiple entries at the top of the diary/in the toolbox on the right. As always we want to make the user experience as easy and fun as possible, just want to clarify exactly what you want! Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi John,Depending on the web browser you use you should be able to press the tab key to move through the text fields, and when you get to the drop-down box for type you can use the arrow keys (usually underneath/around the Enter keys on your keyboard) to select the type. You should then be able to continue using the tab keys as normal. You are also able to press the first letter of a type when the type box is selected, and cycle through all types beginning with that letter. For instance, pressing B will cycle through 'Before Breakfast', 'Before Lunch' and 'Before Dinner'. Re the auto-date duplication, I'll look into this and see what we can do there for you. Simon I'll look into the date |

Topic: General Discussion / Ratios Sam's hit the nail on the head here - this site is for people to share and help each other. This extends to not only people who have completed the course, but DAFNE Educators, Doctors, Friends, Family - pretty much everyone who is involved in one way or another. If you look at a users's name you can see what their 'level' is - regular users are in black, DAFNE Graduates are in blue, HCPs are in orange and site admins (mark and myself) are green. This helps to see what the background of anyone in the forums is, so bear that in mind when acting on advice. But this is great to see - keep up the good work guys! Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Graphs - now I can really see the difference Hi Stew - sure thing, I'll work on this ASAP.One thought - the 'Daily Trend' chart gives some of what you ask for, e.g. showing where your average readings fall over the day - is this what you after, or was it more the percentages over/on/below target at different times during the day? Thanks, Simon |

Topic: General Discussion / Private messages with other site users Are now available! Once logged in look in the DAFNE Tools box to the right, you will see a link to your message inbox. If you visit this link you can see message 'conversations' you have had with other site users. To send a new message to another user, first find that users profile - you can do this by clicking their name in the forums, or by looking them up in the user search (Users link at the top of the site). Once you have found the profile, click 'Send a message to this user' and supply a subject and message - finally click send. A new message will then appear in their inbox! If you want to try it out/provide feedback, send me a message ![]() Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Online BG Diaries Hi Stew,I did a quick search of our database against your user ID and bg readings of 7.6 and the only one that came up was of type 'Before Breakfast' (although it was saved at 2300) - are you sure the offending entry is saved as type 'Before Bed'? Note you can change the type by clicking on the entry time in your diary - you'll get an update form. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Graphs - now I can really see the difference Hi John,Thanks for your feedback - this issue has been raised before and one of our users is looking into doing this for his OneTouch Meter. I'll look into how we would go about extracting the info from the Bayer Contour meter, but this is a feature we intend to have on the site. Unfortunately it is complicated by the number of different meters and manufacturers, an the different ways they represent their BG data. Rest assured that although it may take some time, we are working on this. Also - if anyone has any experience with this, or would like to lend a hand then please get in touch. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Graphs - now I can really see the difference Stew (+ everybody) - We've modified the trend chart so that you can exclude specific lines. You'll see now that when the trend chart loads up there is a 'tick' in each of the coloured boxes corresponding to a time of day line. If you click this tick, that line should be hidden from view. You can un-hide the line by clicking the box again. On the topic of printing we're having a few problems converting the charts to static images, we are working on this and hope to have a better answer for your soon. Rachel - I'm not sure on this, you're the first person to mention it, but I wouid be interested to see what other users think. It's a lot more dificult to spread the readings according to actual time. This would require the bottom axis of the graph to have thousands of possible plot points (maybe even down to the seconds level), and this could potentially slow the site down whilst this is handled. We'll do some testing to see if we can make it more efficient. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: General Discussion / Centre forums now available Hi Everyone,We have just relesed our latest update - a forum for each DAFNE Centre. This is so that DAFNE Grads, Educators, and Others from a single DAFNE Centre can get in touch with each other, to organize events and generally keep in touch. To access the forum for your centre, click the 'My DAFNE Centre' link in the DAFNE Tools box to the right. You'll then see a link to your centre's forum, which you can use in the same manner as the general forums for everybody's use. If you cannot see the link to 'My DAFNE Centre' on the right, you aren't associated with a DAFNE Centre yet. Get in touch with your DAFNE Educators and ask them for your Centre Code for this site, and then update it via the Settings link at the top of the page. If you have any problems with this then contact us via the usual methods. When looking on your DAFNE Centre's page, you will see list of the other users associated with that centre. In the future we will be rolling out the facility to send a private message to other users on the site, and you can use this list to quickly find graduates in your area. If you have any suggestions for improvement, or find any problems with the new functionality, let us know in this topic. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Graphs - now I can really see the difference Hi Stew,Thanks for your feedback, I agree that when full up the trend chart can look hectic, so will work on a way to show the trend lines separately. I'll also try and fix the problem with the backwards printing (which is bizarre...) Will let you know when this is done. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: General Discussion / If you're unable to log in, let us know ASAP Hi,Recently we found a problem with the site, where nobody was able to log in. Obviously this was a large problem as nobody was able to update their diary/post on the forums/look up CPs and so on, which is a great problem for the team. First of all, apologies for any of you who tried to log in earlier this week and couldn't - we have now fixed the problem. This was caused by our web hosting company updating some software which broke the site. We were able to fix it mid-afternoon Friday after some users brought it to our attention. Secondly, an appeal - if you do try to log in to the site and receive an error page, then contact us straight away at [email protected] letting us know the problem and the time it occurred. Note if you are using an incorrect username/password, the site will tell you this specifically. This point also applies if you find some part of the site working in a strange or unexpected way - chances are you are not the only person to notice this. We ask this because we can only fix those problems which we know about, and want to make DAFNE Online the best it can be. Thanks, Simon |
