Topic: Site Development / Diary Sync? The app will only upload entries when you add a new entry. If you created the entries before you put your login details into the app or set Diary Upload it won'thave uploaded them. The reason it works this way is the alternative is the app would have to run in the background constantly checking if it needed to upload entries to the site. This would be inefficient and would flatten your battery. If you add a new entry the app knows there is at least one entry to upload and so will try to upload it and any entries that have not been uploaded. Also, stating the obvious, you need to have an internet connection when you add the entry. If you are not on wifi or don't have data coverage when out and about it can't upload the entry anyway. |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Eating out - help Yes hate having to guess when eating out. Was out the other night and i was 7.1 before and had to guess. 4-5 hours later i was 3.6 going to bed. Never factored in the 3 glasses of wine. Anyway had one cp at 3.6 and was 12.1 waking up. |

Topic: Site Development / Diary Sync? Hi,I have been adding my blood glucose levels into the diary feature on the iPhone App. I had assumed these would automatically sync with the web-site so that I can see my diary from other devices e.t.c but this does not seem to be working properly despite the fact that I have "Diary Upload" turned on and my username and password details set up in the app. Am I doing something wrong? What could it be? Or is it a feature that need further development? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Oliver |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Eating out - help
Hi What was BG 4 - 5 hrs after If I had eaten that much carbs when I was on MDI and started at 7 after two hrs I would have been higher, since QA takes a good 90 mins to peak with the remaing time finishing off the carbs. Yes your correct eating out is always a educated guess, but give it time to work before correcting after the 4 - 5 he period or you will more than likely over correct and hypo What we type1 need is each portion of food has a carb count against it. A long way off,but it would be useful Brian MDI 42 yrs Pod 6 months |

Topic: General Discussion / Eco Pod program
Hi I'm person who believes when the time is right you take to exercise, I was never into exercise although I considered myself active, but could never take to running, more a fear of hypos I accept that now, The pod was the advent that changed that, the time is right for me to pursue this now, but it was hard to begin with, I was lucky that my dafne group had a runer in it, so I could learn and run with him, You seem to have a unique type of diabetes hope it goes well with the tests Brian x..... |

Topic: General Discussion / DP and new breakfast Slowing down the digestion for any diabetic in a sound tactic to reduce the spike on the blood sugars, so you heard right.......And it can also be tackled with dose timing..... I think with the DP effect all the stops should be out..... I tend to have a small yogurt for breakfast because of the DP effect, even now with the pump dealing with it in the early hours, I still have the yogurt because of its small effect on the BG levels.... |

Topic: General Discussion / DP and new breakfast Hi Guys,A long while ago I was "told" to have 8 raw almonds with my oats at breakfast. So I have done for about 15 years. So breakfast is 20g quick oats, 125mL Trim milk, 1 small apple chopped and added to milk and oats and 8 almonds. Can not remember but I must have thought the advice made sense or I would not have adopted it as a mantra. Helen |

Topic: General Discussion / DP and new breakfast I have tried low carb for breakfast and I seemed to get a rise by mid morning, but this was some time ago.I originally tried to Almond milk, but have added raw Almonds before meals and bed, only a few, seems to be working, not sure if this is luck or not as only tried this for a few weeks. |

Topic: General Discussion / DP and new breakfast Hi,This isn't so much a question as news. I have suffered from Dawn Phenomen for ages or so I thought, rising throughout the morning, not sure where I read it, but it was something similar to the fiollowing info... http://www.joybauer.com/photo-gallery/best-foods-for-type-2-diabetes/Almonds.aspx Basically Almonds slow the break down of carbs removing spikes which I think I was getting after breakfast rather than too much DP. I used to have Quaker oat so simple with semi-milk, changed this to Alpro Almond Unsweetened Milk (not the best tasting, but getting used to it) and for the last few weeks my BG has been between 4 and 8 which is unheard of for me Following this I am now adding 10 - 20 Almonds prior to any main meal to see if this can cut other mealtime spikes. Hope this info is useful to others. Phil |

Topic: General Discussion / Pump Holiday...? I have chronic pancreatitis and now have post-prandial diabetes; a CT scan in 2011 showed my pancreas is 3/4 dead. Have been told its rare by the consultants...less than 1% of diabetics. I am possibly still producing some insulin (in mornings only!), am very insulin sensitive and they now think I have something going on with hormones that are affecting my BGs, hence the hospital investigations! |

Topic: General Discussion / Pump Holiday...? Hi Helen,The trial was due to my rare form of diabetes (linked to my chronic pancreatitis), and constant hypos; he wanted to see what would happen if I had no insulin except to correct highs! I currently average 4 units a day with the pump. I am now going into hospital for further tests as am still having occasional hypos but also sugars dip in the low 4s a few hours after eating breakfast, with no insulin taken! I am on the Omnipod pump and love it, have had a couple of pod failures but feel loads better on it. Hope you get sorted x |

Topic: General Discussion / Pump Holiday...? Hi Vicki,I am curious as to why the consultant thought that a trial without the pump was warranted. I am just sick of the damn thing and seem to be having more set failures than is acceptable. I am finding it not as reliable as I want/need. Helen |

Topic: General Discussion / Pump Holiday...? As a trial, with guidance from my consultant, I had a pump holiday for 3 weeks..and hated it! My BGs were all over the place, I felt tired all the time and just generally crap; as soon as was back on the pump felt better...and told consultant not to do that to me again!!! |
