Topic: Site Development / Site attendance Hi SimonI've just updated my settings. On the settings page I am still listed as a DAFNE User; whereas here in the forum I am listed as a DAFNE HCP. Could I be listed as the same in both? Also any chance of a 3rd category - DAFNE management or DAFNE admin as I'm neither a User or a HCP. Thanks Gill |

Topic: Site Development / Settings Bug - Fixed Thanks for Brian Trench for informing me about this one:Basically if you clicked the settings link after logging in you were told that you were not authorized to visit that area on the site. This was an error on our part (of course users should be able to access their own settings) and it has now been fixed. You can all now visit the settings link in the navigation bar to update your profiles. This highlights the importance of testing and feedback - if you find any more issues like this (where something doesn't work as expected) then let us know via the Contact DAFNE Online link below. Thanks again to Brian. Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Site attendance Thanks for the feedback on the colour of the navigation bar at the top Gill - I've changed from green to blue to hopefully make the text more legible after a number of users raised this. Let me know what you all think of the change.Yes - planning on adding more content from the handbook - it would be good to know which sections are in demand from the Graduate/HCP community! Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Site attendance Hieventually managed to log on. The site looks great and is easy to navigate. The only suggetsion I have is to use a different colour font on the naviagtion bar as the green is difficult to read against the orange background. I will send details of the site and how to log on to a few DAFNE Educators and hopefully they will feedback also. Are you going to add more content from the DANFE Handbook and the CP list? Well done Simon and Mark! Gill |

Topic: Site Development / Performance? Hi Everyone,Just a quick note to assess the performance of our Webserver - when browsing the site are pages loading quickly, or are they annoyingly slow to load? If so is this at certain times/certain pages or all the time? Thanks, Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Site attendance Thanks to Robert for being our most active (and only!) poster so far, its great to see you are testing the site out. With regard to getting the site out there - I'll certainly be investigating ways of getting us to the top of the Google charts as current Graduates may indeed search for us there. I'll also be sitting down with selected members of DAFNE Central (those that were at the meeting where we all met in Sheffield last year) to discuss ways of getting in touch with current and new graduates as well as those who are interested in the course. I'm hoping that we can get in touch with all the lead educators of each DAFNE Centre, and they can pass on the site info as well as centre code to all DAFNE Graduates and HCPs in their area... Watch this space! If anyone has info on how to rise up the Google rankings, or other means of getting the message out there for the first release in February, let us know here! Thanks again Robert for your testing so far! Simon |

Topic: Site Development / Site attendance So by the time I got past all the european and Australian DAFNE references I found ADDENBROOKES Cambridge on Page 13.....Still nothing to write home about as it was a history thing. So maybe a thought to get this site higher upthe Google chart...which I suppose you already have in mind!! would be a good idea...but maybe a better support system over the next comming weeks from our guests to see what they think"!Can't find a problem as yet from a simple user and it still ticks my boxes...will get the wife to view it tomorrow if I can and see what she says.. Good work guys Robert |

Topic: General Discussion / Testers - Please Note (Ignore) Hi all,I just wanted to clarify the signup/login process as I realise it may cause some confusion. As we are in testing mode the whole site is protected via a username and password, which is the same for all users and has been supplied to you via email. If you can read this you've already input these details. This is in place to ensure that only the testing group has access to the pre-release site, and will disappear in the full version released later this year. You also need to create your own unique username, via the Signup link in the bar at the top of the page. This is to create your own personal identity on the site, which will allow you to login and post messages on the forums as well as view other areas of the site intended for DAFNE Graduates. After creating this username and password, you will be automatically be emailed by the site with a link you must follow which will activate your account. When (and only when) your account has been activated you can Login to the site and post messages on the forums and view other pages in the site. Note we are currently having issues with some of the automated emails being picked up by some users spam/junk mail filters. If you are expecting an email after signing up, please also check your junk email folder. We are working with our hosting company to rectify this. If you have any questions/problems then dont hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact link near the bottom of the page. Thanks, Simon |

Topic: General Discussion / Site first impressions On behalf of the attending DAFNE Grads who attended the Sheffield meeting, I would to say that the work you computer guys have put in seems to be very good indeed. I'm sure there is far more work that we can all see infront of us. So a big congratulations to you all.My Log on and registration sequence went well with little confusion (Well none actually) and the "finding the way round the site" activity is also well laid out and you can find your destination easily enough...as time goes on I'm sure there may be things to suggest...but not yet...!! Thanks one and all and I hope you get some good feedback. I will try to give you some! Robert Miller. |

Topic: General Discussion / Introductions Hi everyone, when you get signed up to the site take some time to introduce yourself here...I'm Simon and I attended the DAFNE Course in Sheffield in July 2007, and I was diagnosed with Type 1 in May 2006 whilst studying for my finals at university (great timing!). I got involved with development of DAFNE Online after seeing how great it was to interact with other people with diabetes over the DAFNE week, and could see the value of sharing stories/experiences/supporting each other - hence this site! If you want to find out more about me, click my username to the left of this post. You can also add your own 'bio' using the settings link in the top right of the page. |
