Other than entering my username and password nothing has been set differently to the defaults - its a clean install on both my phone and my wife's ( which has never had it installed in the past)

In addition.
It crashes in the same manner on my wife's iPhone 4. I am using an iPhone 3.

It does not crash on my iPad however.

That's strange, what device do you have? And what settings do you have set?

Rich

It is something about your settings or the data you're entering as thankfully mine is working fine. I am sure Simon will be after info on what you're entering before you press save.

Sorry to rub it in Rich, hope you find the issue Simon.

If I open a new entry and press save immediate, it crashes. If i enter anything at all into any field it crashes the moment I press save.

Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn't fix it either.

Hi Rich, could you let me know what you enter into the diary entry before the crash & what triggers it?

I would also like to hear views of the professionals...........

I cant recall being given this advice during my time as a diabetic, however that doesn't mean I wasn't told, only that I cant remember............. Wink

My understanding though is that the new insulins' we take like novorapid and levemir etc... are engineered to last a certain length of time, so we shouldn't need to use more/less absorbent areas of our bodies to assist the insulin.....

should we?

Bugger, the updated version crashes every time I try to save the diary entry. I have powered down the iPhone to try from a fresh start but still crashes.

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Updated iPod App issue

Hi all - the override problems are now fixed in the latest version, available on the app store. Thanks for your patience in waiting for this fix.

Rob - regarding the settings, it may be that we can do something with iCloud to sync them, I'll do some investigation.

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right

Please all update to version 1.6.1 - I've fixed the issues regarding overriding the suggested dose, as well as provided the ability to specify whether the app corrects to 0.5 or 1. Also fixed some issues around the saving of comments.

Rich - yep I'll put this into a later version.

Thanks for your patience whilst waiting for me to fix this!

I see there is a correction rounding option now. Any chance of having the same for the main QA calc.

Topic: General Discussion / Any comments would b helpful

Hi Mike,

It seems to me that things are improving. I've spent the last 34 years with an average of around 10. Often swinging between one point something and well over thirty. DAFNE has helped me enormously but it has not brought me on to an even keel, or given me any more predictability.

The thing about your diary which surprises me, and which I would have thought were not helping you, is the variation in the times and quantities of your carbohydrate intake and the variation in the times you inject your BI.

However, as I said, you seem to be on the right track. I have to keep changing my ratios every couple of months, sometimes more often. My carb intake is almost identical for every meal, taken at almost the same time every day. My energy output is almost constant, just enough to maintain life, no climbing mountains, or even running for buses! :-) Even so, my BG swings about all over the place and the effect of a given quantity of insulin, all other factors being the same, is entirely unpredictable. So you're doing well sunshine!

Topic: Questions for HCPs / QA and BI preferred injection sites

Following a General thread: http://www.dafneonline.co.uk/forums/1/topics/1779
I follow the same rules as marke.
I was advised QA - stomach and arms - for quick uptake.
BI in legs - for slower absorbtion. That is what I have followed after being given this info during my DAFNE course in November 2009.
I wonder whether Carolin would express an opinion and be good enough to comment?
Regards

Hi Roger,

It's still on the to-do list I'm afraid - I am getting round to it though.

Topic: Site Development / Injection site list

Hi Simon,

I raised this topic back in December 2011. Since then several other people have said that they too would like to designate a site for each injection or, alternatively, have the sites described in a logical manner, e.g. Left arm, Right arm, Left buttock, Right buttock.

You said some months ago that you would take a look at this. Have you managed to do so?

Kind regards,

Roger

To echo Novapidboi, my understanding was that the belly is one of the areas that has a quicker absorbtion rate so it is NOT the area to inject BI. However the best area is what works for you. I have never seen a study that backs up the idea of injecting BI in the belly.
