Topic: General Discussion / Any comments would b helpful Hi MikeA couple of thoughts...firstly which insulins are you taking? If your QA is novorapid then when you took your correction at 8:30 on 27/7 it will still most likely be working until 12:30, so your lunch reading wasn't accurate (cos your BG would still be going down hence the hypo). As Ahmentep mentioned, might be a good idea to try and take your BI at the same time each day to avoid that complicating matters. Your recent increase in BI dose looks like it's covering you most nights so that's good. 25/7 is surprising... only 4CPs and a high bedtime reading. Don't forget to check ketones with the high readings! I would suggest that you only make corrections with meals and only rely on readings more than 4 hours after your last QA. Try to eliminate the hypos and that might also eliminate some of the rebound highs. Then it will be easier to see what other changes you may need. Best wishes :-) Keep us updated |

Topic: Site Development / Blood glucose diary date There seems to be an issue with setting the date in the diary for my local time (NZ+12GMT). I've noticed that when I enter my AM readings I have to continually change the date at the top to be able to see my entries because it keeps reverting back to the prior day. |

Does anyone know whether I should be injecting for Kasha (buckwheat groats)? I saw somewhere that they are actually a type of seed. Also wondering about quinoa and pearl barley... |

Topic: General Discussion / Aviva test strips Just rung Freestyle (on another matter) and asked about the "non coding". Story is that you now no longer have to "code" the machine everytime you get a new pack of strips. The machine (meter) remembers when you insert the first strip that it has been coded for that number previously. Idea is to make it simpler and to do away with the need for the "coding bar". Expiry date and Lot number changes but the "code" does not. Helen |

Topic: General Discussion / Aviva test strips I have been using these test strips for several years. Over the last 4 or 5 months I have noticed the 3-figure code on each canister hasn't changed. It is consistently 111.Before this I could guarantee that each different batch had a different code. Invariably when I got my regular 4 boxes from the pharmacist there would be different batches, and hence I would have different codes on my canisters. I would tend to ensure that each time I had to open a new canister I was choosing a different batch number, and therefore would have a new 3-figure code. Simple, I know, but this is the way I ensured that the strips were giving me accurate readings. My method of rotation has gone to pot over the last 4-5 months ![]() Has anyone else noticed this, or give me an explanation as to what may have happened, or why the change? |

Topic: Site Development / App update bugs Ok - which versions of the iOS software are your phones running? I can try and reproduce in the simulator. It might also be helpful if you could share your crash logs with me - instructions on how to get them are here and if you're happy to can you send them to [email protected] |

Topic: Site Development / App update bugs RichIt is something about your settings or the data you're entering as thankfully mine is working fine. I am sure Simon will be after info on what you're entering before you press save. Sorry to rub it in Rich, hope you find the issue Simon. Phil |

Topic: Questions for HCPs / QA and BI preferred injection sites I would also like to hear views of the professionals...........I cant recall being given this advice during my time as a diabetic, however that doesn't mean I wasn't told, only that I cant remember............. ![]() My understanding though is that the new insulins' we take like novorapid and levemir etc... are engineered to last a certain length of time, so we shouldn't need to use more/less absorbent areas of our bodies to assist the insulin..... should we? |
