Topic: General Discussion / Baking

Your only interest is in the carbs however they are produced be it flour, sugar, milk whatever so once it's made I would just divide the cake into equal portions and work out the carbs proportionately. At your numbers 8 portions would equate to a fraction over 71 gms per portion so a slightl thinner slice could be your required 60 gms. You can use this basic theory to work out various baking projects. One thing you will need to watch is that sweet things such as cakes can make blood sugars rise very rapidly and can be awkward to get down afterwards. I've had type 1 for 60 years and manage to eat most things but its a case of having treats instead of not as well as. In other words if you want cake then it's best to reduce other carbs in a meal. Good Luck

Topic: General Discussion / Baking

Hello,

I’ve just baked a Victoria sponge cake and have worked out all of the carbs of the cake, comes to 574g altogether, how do I work out 60g off that Victoria sponge recipe?

Would I need to weigh the whole cake first?

Thankyou in advance for your help!

I finished the DAFNE course on Friday and has brought so much more confidence in my T1 diagnosis, still in ‘honeymoon’ stage at the moment, if only it could stay like it hey!?

Hope you are all well and keeping safe!

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Mobile app won't upload results/Entries

Hi Steve,

I’m sorry about this - we’ve recently migrated the website and that has broken the way the Android app interacts with the site. As we are a couple of DAFNE graduates running this part time, and the person who originally made the app has moved on we aren’t able to update it quickly. In the short term the best bet is to use the website on your phone’s browser to add blood glucose results, we have tried to make it as mobile friendly as possible but if you think there’s anything we can improve to make that easier let me know.

Long term it’s my intention to learn the skills needed to build a new Android version, unfortunately that just takes time.

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / Mobile app won't upload results/Entries

Hi,
I've had problems since Dec 3rd, my mobile won't upload results and entries to the mobile web site.
Android phone, The error is:
Operation failed with unexpected server response: code=301 reason=moved Permanently detail=. (no more information is shown.
I've checked the results on that day, the day when it all stopped, and can't see anything wrong with the data format, (No unexpected full stops etc.
All I can do now is to manually put each result in directly on the web site.
Can any One help please.
Steve
