Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Low carbing / fasting?

Hi all, is anyone following the low-carb routine and/or fasting at the same time? I would be interested in hearing from you if you are trying either or both, what things have you learnt? I've learnt that whilst I previously enjoyed eggs with toast for breakfast, I'm waiting to have my breakfast later. This is particularly good in this hot weather but having something more low carb like natural yoghurt and a bit of fruit.

Topic: General Discussion / Dexcom G6 and Tandem Control IQ - error messages?

Hi all, I use both of the above technology, is there anyone else on this forum who does as well? I only ask as I have recently had two Tandem Control IQ pumps that have had the same malfunction code, and then died.

Has anyone had the same issue? Id be keen to know? Thanks.

Topic: Site Development / Any chance of a "like" button

Hi, is there any chance of having a "like" button for the forum like Facebook, Instagram and Linked in work? It's not a top priority but would be nice to have, it may encourage more traffic to the forums plus a good way of seeing who is active on the site.

A good tip, thanks MichaelJ, now where did I put those antiseptic wipes, they are there somewhere in my stores I know! Fingers crossed it works for us both.

Have just this minute had to change my Libra 2 sensor and have found that a thorough cleansing with Antiseptic wipes to get rid of any sweat or moisture and then dry with tissues seems to work. Hasn't fallen off yet, but hope | haven't spoken too soon.

A good idea. I don't think I would be bothered to work it out manually, life is too short! I hope the cake was good.

Hi all, is anyone else having a challenge using a sensor in this very hot weather. I have heard from others on other forums that as soon as they put a new sensor on, it comes unstuck.

Are you having the same problems and if so, how do you ensure it stays on?

I get it, but I also understand that I also inject frequently, so the view for me is that I will continue to do both for some time to come, there seems to be no better or accurate way to go.

I have found that the readings aren’t far off actual BG except for high readings. I find the low alarms very useful as I was losing my sensitivity to hypos. Also my fingers are not sore anymore! I can play my cello without pain now. As for being active, I noticed that Nikita, one of the Strictly Come Dancing professionals, has a Libre sensor. You can’t get much more active than that! Very Happy

It is worth getting as it does reduce the number of finger pricks. I made the mistake of setting the alarms for low readings and went from one or two per week with finger pricking to 3 or 4 alarms a day.Which meant a finger prick which showed that the Libre was consistently 2 or 3 units below. My fingers are now back to normal which meant a lot to me.

I believe that the technology may be useful to some, but for me, I need to rely on measurements that have a good accuracy, and I suspect I will bin the idea of using this product based on its performance, accuracy overall and where the item is sited due to the type of work that I do having looked deeper into all of this. Will be fine for office type of person, but not for me. Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I think it depends on the individual as to how accurate it is.

I have found the Libre 2 is usually a few points of a blood glucose reading most of the time although there was the occasional time when it was 2 or 3 mmol/L difference but whether the Libre 2 was inaccurate it or the BG meter, I don't know.

Others in this forum seem to have had greater inaccuracies though.
