Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / iPhone 6 I've downloaded the latest update yesterday, and still getting the same problem . I enter a value of e.g. 8.3 and, when I tap the QA it changes to red & "8.300000000000001"! It also gives me a suggested correction in the QA value of +0.5. My settings are CP:QA 1:1.25 at evening meal time, & 1:1 for all the rest, and my upper range level is 8. I therefore shouldn't need to correct for a value of 8.3 as this is only just above my upper limit. My range target is set to 50% & my QA:BG RATIO IS SET TO 1:3. Correction calculation is set to Simple. Calculations are rounded to 0.5. I hope this helps you to see what the problem is. If you need any more info let me know. 😀 |

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / iPhone 6 Is anyone else having problems with the latest update? I have an iPhone 6 and occasionally, when I input my BG results it adds a load of 0's e.g. I put 8.3 in and it came up as 8.30000000001! Also I seem to have to tap QA at least twice to get it to calculate any corrections properly. They don't come up straight away like they used to. It also suggested a correction for the 8.3 result which was only just above my upper target & wouldn't normally correct for. It just doesn't seem to be right. |

Topic: Questions for HCPs / Time zone change Thanks everyone. I already have Frio wallets for my insulin as we holiday in Greece a lot, & these seem to work well. I've not, so far, had any issues with my test strips being affected by high temperatures so hopefully will be ok. We are staying with son & daughter-in-law & new(ish) granddaughter so I'm sure they'll know where I can get medical help if I need it. New Zealand is 12-13 hours ahead of us, not 24, which makes it a bit more complicated. We've looked at our flight times and I think I can more or less stay with my normal doses at normal times until we get there, & just postpone my first morning dose as we arrive at about midnight. This might mean high BG for the first day, but I'm sure with adjustments I can sort it. Thanks for all your suggestions & encouragement. If anyone has any more advice it will be gratefully received! |

Topic: Questions for HCPs / Time zone change I don't think that'd work as both doses are different & I'd be doing daytime things in the day so my night dose wouldn't be sufficient etc. Unfortunately I no longer live in a DAFNE area, so my diabetes nurse knows nothing about DAFNE. I'm pretty much on my own. Am hoping a DAFNE HCP might see this & help! Thanks anyway! |

Topic: Questions for HCPs / Time zone change I am travelling to New Zealand next February, a 29 hour total flightime, and across several time zones. I am wondering what to do about timings of my BI doses. I am using Levemir, 8 units a.m. and 6 units p.m. Can anyone advise me on this please? |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / iPhone app carbs list
Hi! At our course, (run by Carolin Taylor and I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the dietician!) we were asked to manually change the values in our books for a few of the items, as they had been "changed" since printing, and also to add a couple of extras that weren't included (e.g. parsnips). I'll go with the values given in the app then. Thanks for checking this out for me! ![]() |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right I'm STILL getting -ve QA when not having any carbs &, therefore, no QA. I thought this had been fixed, or has it not reached the iPhone app yet? Not had an update for ages. I have an iPhone 5 using iOS 6.1.2. |

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / iPhone App - Comments & Custom Carb Items
I use an iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.2 and have also noticed some comments disappearing. Annoying when you want to check when you did or didn't do something. |

Topic: DAFNE Online Mobile / iPhone App - Comments & Custom Carb Items Yes, I also have problems entering my own carb items. It seems to lose all data once you enter a category, or just put it in the list as "carb item" rather than whatever you've called it. This is a bit of a pain as you have to keep repeating yourself. I find it works best if you do it backwards, starting at the bottom - "category" and add the name of the item last. It definitely needs tweaking!![]() |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Nope - it's still doing it. (I mean the giving a minus QA when not having any carbs & therefore no QA) I don't seem to have had an update since this was posted. Also, is there any progress on the multiple injection sites query? I mean for when you're having 2 injections, one BI & one QA and in different sites? ![]() Annette |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Yes, I've tested it too & it still suggesting minus amounts for QA even though I'm not having any CP's therefore no QA at bedtime, before driving etc. Also, the new add your own Carb content items doesn't allow me to save them. I've tried adding one & as soon as I say "done" it deletes everything I've put in apart from the category. When I look in the list it's just listed as "carb item" with no value - which isn't a lot of good really!![]() |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Thanks Phil - I didn't notice this because I only use the carb counting bit occasionally. If we add our own, does everyone get to see what we've added or is it our own private list like e.g. "Mum's cakes"? |

Topic: Site Development / DAFNE Online iPhone application - help with content/design needed Yesterday I noticed there was an update to the iphone/ipod app. I have downloaded this, but can't see any difference. What does this update do that's different please? Also, I've not had any response to my last posting about the auto calculate QA subject. Has anyone read it & is there anything we can do about this? |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right One small glitch! When one is not taking any QA, eg when hypo, before driving, bedtime, & in my case before breakfast, as I don't eat breakfast, it still gives you a negative dose if BG is below target. This is obviously impossible to do & annoying that it has to be cancelled out, & comes back if you then have to go back in to alter anything. Also, if before meals BG is too low so you have to have extra CP's it still gives a minus suggestion. If you do both you end up with a high BG later. I know you have to use common sense, but it is a bit annoying, & if you're confused due to low BG it's a problem.![]() |

Topic: Carbohydrate Counting / Pasta! I have a similar problem when I eat curry & rice. I have half the necessary QA before I eat, & then the other half at bedtime, even if my BG is slightly low, and this seems to work so far! Hope this helps. (Haven't noticed a problem with pasta though!) |

I have my before driving target set to between 7 & 10 so that it doesn't suggest corrections (unless I'm outside of this range obviously!) ![]() |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right The suggested dose automatically gives the + values added on, but not the - ones. Also, if BG is below 3.5 before a meal I was told to take extra quick acting carb. The suggested minus values don't take into account if you're taking extra carbs. If you do both you could end up with high BG later! |

Topic: Site Development / Auto calculate QA from BG - let's get it right Hi! I have downloaded the latest update for my Ipod. Yesterday I was 4.2 before my lunch which is below target. I had 6 CP's and the calculation said "BG:4.2 CP: 6, QA:CP ratio: 1:1, Target range: 4.5-8.0, QA for CPs: 6"Then.... Target: 6.2 (50% of range), BG minus target = -2.1, Calculation method: Simple, QA:BG ratio: 3.0, CORRECTIVE QA: -1 However, when I tried to enter the -1 in the QA dose (as it didn't put it in automatically as I'd thought it would) as soon as I tried to save it the dosage went straight back to 6 without the -1. Is this a problem with the app or am I doing something wrong? I had a similar problem with my evening meal. As I don't have a half unit pen I round up my doses. The calculated dose was 13.5 + 1, so I tried to round this up to 14 + 1, and again, as soon as I tried to save it it reverted to 13.5+1. I tried to solve this by changing it to 13.5+1.5 but it wouldn't accept this either. HELP! |
