Thanks for your reply. Thank you for reminding me to test the change & also how to do this. Yes I will post the results. I've also seen rises on waking. Also at other times of the day too. |

Topic: General Discussion / BG diary help please (2) (mum2westiesGill diary) Hi sjohno,
Thank you for your reply. I prefer to inject into my stomach & I do always use different sites. My stomach isn't lumpy. If I inject into my arms I always bruise. If I injected into my legs/thighs then that would be too near to the buttocks where I do my background insulin. I inject QA into my stomach (different sites) because that's where it absorbs the fastest. |

Topic: General Discussion / BG diary help please (mum2westiesGill diary) Hi glen4,Thank you for my reply/comment. Re altering my lunchtime & evening meal ratios could they both be done at the same time or am I best maybe altering the lunchtime one first then leave for a few days before altering the evening meal one? |

Topic: General Discussion / Hypos - All Over The Place I seem to be hypoing all over the place at the moment, I could have shares with jelly babies lol.I have been slowly reducing my lantus by 2u at a time then giving it 3+ days for it to settle & 3+ to see any effects. The last time I reduced was Sat 20/09. I'm wondering whether a time change of lantus ie taking it in a morning rather than evening (10:30pm ish) would help - I know of somebody whos dsn suggested this why I don't really know & I know we're all different. Can anyone see any trends Any help in identifying trends and/or advice on how to improve my control would be greatly appreciated Thank you |

Topic: General Discussion / My BGs - lots of drops here Yes. I agree about the rise between dinner and bed. I think it is worth trying to split your dose and seeing if that stops the rise. Once you have fully split, you may find that you need to increase your basal insulin a bit to cover the extra required to keep you stable between dinner and bed.- Yes I might try a split & see what happens I think that the Abbot Insulinx records carbs along with the insulin dose it recommends, and any over-rides/corrections you have made to it in the form "Dose for carbs" + "Dose for correction". However, like you, I use an Accu-Chek (in my case the Expert) which records QA taken, but not split out into what QA was for ingested carbs, and what QA was taken for correcting. In terms of inputting into the diary, it just makes it easier when reviewing to identify whether ratios are good or need tweaking. - I also use the Accu-chek Aviva Expert meter. Do you have any suggestions for how I could input QA & corrections into the diary separately? |

Topic: General Discussion / My BGs - lots of drops here Another 3 more days of mg BGs. Hmm what to do. 1. There's a rise usually between dinner & bedtime. 2. BGs are dropping a lot between bedtime and fasting. And advice will be considered. Thank you in advance. |

Topic: General Discussion / My BGs - lots of drops here Hi WarwickRe the entering the correction doese sperately is a little bit difficult with my meter. I use the accu-chek aviva adviser meter which tells me seperately how many units are required for correction & how many units are needed for the carbs. Once I press confirm it just tells me how many units to inject. Once that's done however, there doesn't seem to be any way to get it to tell you again what the split was between carbs and correction so I can't always remember all of the correction doses. |
