Hi Chaps,

I've put this on my to-do list for the next diary update, and I'll also look to getting it integrated to the graphs functionality too. Can you list the measures that you'd like to store? (I already have HBA1C, Cholesterol... any more?)

Would it be possible to add a dedicated bit for ketones?

They are key for when you're ill and having the dedicated bit may even jog memories to test for them when diabetics are looking for help here! Smile

Sorry in advance if someone has already suggested this!

Hi all,

We've been updating the site to new software recently, getting to the end of that now so will look to add the ketones value to the diary and iPhone app. How is the best way to record these? I was thinking a drop down list with the options (-, +, ++, +++, ++++) - would this be OK or does anybody record them differenty?

I check for ketones on my daughter's spare meter which gives the reading in number form. (0.0 up to 6.6 are the results we've had)

I also use an Optium Xceed meter for testing for Ketones (number format)

I might be getting another machine for dedicated use for ketones after the spell of illness I've had recently... so it might be worth looking at the other variants besides the traditional use of - and +.

Unless there's a way to convert the numbers over to the traditional system used on ketone stixs?

Not 100% sure what mg/dL stands for (sorry Sad ). I can't seem to find a more up to date image of the bottle side on the net! >_<

Perhaps it would be best to allow you guys to add ketones as free text (like the comments field), although this may prove difficult to make a chart of, if you wanted that. What do you all think?

I rarely test myself for ketones so will take your guidance on what is best.

Edit: mg/dl measures the same thing as mmol/l, but with a different scale - the amount of one substance in another. In this case I think it is mg of Ketones per dL (deciLitre?) of urine
