First draft of DUG letter

I have read Annette,s letter and found that the letter is just about right. I do not feel that it needs to be any longer, as people will not read a long letter.

The letter I read was posted on the 28th september. I do not seem to seem to be able to access the later addition.

google docs is a possibilty but there are a few things to bear in mind. Firstly it is NOT secure and so no personal information should be stored on it. Its fine for generic letters or documents that do not contain any personal information but thats the limit to it. I'm also not sure how we can add references to docs from here to it. We each need an account and then to share the docs between those accounts. This is fine but I'm not sure about specific references to documents from here. Its worth trying since as Simon says it is easier for working on shared documents. We could just post here to say the doc has been updated instead of adding a reference to the doc in the post.
The only other issue I can think of is we are 2 weeks into the forum and only a small number of the DUAG have managed to find it, not sure how many will be able to manage google docs as well :-(

David - the version on my original posting includes my additions as I have edited it. I can't access anything that Tony says he's added either. Glad you think it's ok - and I agree - anything longer would probably be too much.

Annette, I have updated your original post with the latest version of the document you have sent me. If tony has added something he hasn't sent it to me, so I can't upload it...

Yes I am now back in the fray and note that I/we are already behind our 1 Oct target; however, I suspect from reading this background there have been some teething challenges. Marke is about to post today his draft following Annette's comprehensive first shot 'in the dark' and I hope we can draw this issue into a final delivery soonest. If I have got the status wrong please excuse me and put it down to 'high seas wobble'.

Marke I have reviewed AB's letter but have not had sight of the subsequent amendments; however, under the list of aims we ask them to provide their contact details and as we have passed the letter to them either electonically or by snail mail then we must already have the contact details! With that one proviso I would like to see the document issued. Who is undertaking this role? When action completed we should post a message on both this forum and the duagonline link so that all can sight. I have noted Ian's comments about emails v forums and this may explain why there are only some posts on this medium and we could have the difficulty of falling between two stools! Is TD as enforcer content that progress is being made?

I realise we must have some contact details in order to send this letter, but I thought it was being posted out, and we were asking for e-mail addresses or maybe 'phone numbers if they don't have e-mail (unusual I know, but some people may not have e-mail). If you want to amend it to asking for other means of contact than addresses that's fine by me. I also thought central DAFNE was going to send it out so how do we get Gillian to look at it & arrange for this to happen?
Mark, I assume Tony has not yet sent you his ammendments by e-mail & that's why they don't yet appear on here?
Brian, I didn't get home to my computer until 23rd September so was hard pushed to get this done before 1st Oct but managed to get it on here by 28th Sept. I can do nothing more until the final draft is approved & we get whoever is supposed to be producing it & sending it out to do so. As you say, it was a total "shot in the dark" as I did not receive any help in response to my plea so just went ahead anyway.
I also don't know who they should send their responses to or by when, so have left that bit as ....... at the end of the letter.
Can you tell I'm getting a bit fed up with the whole thing?!!

brian, the one you read IS the amended version, I just updated the link in the original post with the updated doc as its easier. Annette no I have not heard from Tony so no further updates have been applied.
I too thought DAFNE Central wanted to post the letters out, we just need to email it to Sharon and Gill, Gill agrees to send it and Sharon actually does it ;-) I think we only want email addresses from the ones in the DUG, anyone on DAFNEOnline we already have it. I don't see why we need phone numbers apart from people who are actually doing direct work with us and in that case we can ask for them as needed.
Annette you are doing a great job don't be disheartened, I too find it frustrating that we all agreed at the meeting to use this forum and then only a minority seem to be doing so and others say they want email now but didn't speak up at the meeting. Its like working with the swedish again, you agree a load of stuff at a meeting and then no-one does it because they didn't agree !
