Just with a general casting my eyes over your results they seem to be a lot more stable and closer to recommended targets...

you also seem to be having a lot of hypos in the morning time leading up to when you first eat...

this could suggest too much BI or too much QA before bed...

what ratios do you use for your bedtime snacks, you have only just started to bolus at this time yeah?

In light of that a 1:1 ratio would be best, even though your dinner time is 1.5:1.....

Have you spoke to your healthcare team about splitting your background dose....?

BG's raising towards the end of the day

This is what I've spotted. Now lets see the difference when you say what you've spotted.

My correction doses throughout the day are 1u drops me by 3mmol - I don't know if you could help me here & there on these looking at my diary also maybe this should be 1u drops me by 2mmol?

hearing what you have said its hard to to see anything else lol....

but yeah, missed corrections...........

its a valid point that you probably aren't correcting because it might drop you below target, but its perfectly likely that 1 units doesn't drop you 3 at all times in a 24 hour period...

DAFNE teaches you that 1 unit drop you by 2 - 3 mmol, so actually 2.5 mmol, at least at the beginning.......

from 6am to 1130am 1 unit drops me by 1.5, the rest of the day is 2.............you can work this out by having a carb free meal with a high number before it.........see what the correction alone does after 4-5 hours...

Don't be afraid to give 1 unit correction.........

And you should really consider a split dose of background.... Smile

At least I've tried lol!

Re the corrections I'm doing them but just not entering them as a separate thing in my diary. My correction doses show up on my meter then what I'm entering into the diary is the final dose of QA with the correction included because I can't remember always at the time of entering results on here what they are if that makes sense.

And you should really consider a split dose of background.... Smile
What do you see to make you think about a split dose of BI? Also would you start with a 50/50 split?

Ahh, I see now about the corrections.....

As far as a split BI dose goes, its really because its always in the back of my mind that your highs could be down to your BI dose running out and/or you needing more/less in the AM/PM part of the day.

Yes, a 50/50 split would be the best to start off on, but the whole idea of a split is to accommodate for a different ratio of needs over the day and night, so you may need more overnight than you do during the day, so it might end up a 60/40 or 70/30....

you do have a good understanding of your own blood sugars and the possible fixes you can try though, which is good seeing as you haven't done DAFNE.....well done....

Comments wanted on the above please - 05.02.14 - 14.02.14

Went to my diabetic drop in clinic on Thu 06.02.12 - most targets are not in range:
4 - 7 for breakfast, lunch & teatime
8 - 12 for bedtime

also

DSN wondered if I'm counting carbs correctly

Since then I'm trying hard to get carbs counting correct & concentrating hard on rounding them up or down to the nearest 5 depending on where I am in my target range. Round down if BG is around 4 - 5 ish then up if BG is 6 - 7 ish or over.
