Hi there, The fact that you're getting varied results all the time points to your injection site as from what you've recorded you only use your stomach for yout QA. When I was at my annual DAFNE catch up a few weeks ago there was a guy there who was getting results all over he place with no pattern and the DAFNE team completely agreed that his injection sites seemed to be the issue.
Worth a try to use elsewhere but I appreciate that the stomach tends to be the least painful and also the most discreet (depending on what you're wearing) for injecting in public.
If you do try a new site bear in mind that your Insulin sensitivity could be increased as the insulin may be absorbed better.
Cheers

Hi Anele46,
Thanks for your reply/comments.
Yes that's right I only use my stomach for QA but I do always inject in different areas & in a sort of smiley face below my belly button.
I use right & left thighs for BI

Hi Gill, Maybe if you've been injecting there for a long time even if you rotate round your belly button it may no longer be enough. My DAFNE consultant advised that you don't need to have noticeable lumps to start getting issues with your injection sites. I use my buttocks for my BI which frees up my thighs for my breakkie and dinner and I use my stomach for lunch. The buttocks aren't always the best or most convenient place for injecting but at least I know that I'm only using the same site once a day (if I need to correct before bed or I have a snack I'll use my stomach). It was just a thought and understand rotating sites isn't easy but may be better for you in the long run?
All the best Anele,

Hi Anele, - Re your BI & buttocks - do you manage to get right round to the back for injecting into the buttocks or just sort of at the side of the buttocks? - Re QA - that sounds like a really good idea of injecting into thighs for brekkie & dinner then stomach for lunch. - For any corrections before bed or any snacks I presume this is your QA? - just a refresher for me re changing injection sites would you do this all in one go or gradually?
I completed an X-Pert insulin course just a few weeks back which was very similar to things done on a DAFNE course but sometimes it's good to have a refresher from someone.
Many thanks Gill

Hi Gill, Sorry for not replying sooner, my baby keeps me busy at the weekend For my BI I just reach round as far as is comfortable. Yeah sorry, my corrections or snacks is for my QA. I would recommend doing it gradually as you may find that your QA works a lot quicker so maybe try just one new site at a time for one meal maybe to let you see a few days worth in case there's a change to your BG as a result.
Hope this helps Cheers, Anele.
