I take my Levemir @9.30pm approx each evening.I'm fortunate in not requiring any further BI.Never had any problem with Levimer and on odd occasions I would have good few drinks I would drop one unit.Recently I forgot to bring my background insulin and for the one day I was without I found my readings were fine .

I have been told that Levemir must be at least 7hrs apart (obviously a 12 hour split will give you an even coverage) it just depends how long it lasts for you and if you like your doses to cross a little to help with dawn phonomen. But I would say as long as they are between 7 - 12 hrs apart - whatever works best for you, I do my evening about 11pm and morning at about 8am - so 9 hrs gap.

Hi Debbie
How do you know that taking it at 11 pm and 8am works for you ????

Just what is convinient for me, and my BG levels are stable with this regime. I think it also has to fit around your lifestyle!

I currently take mine at:

Morning: mostly around 7.30am, depends when I wake up though... so maybe better to say, between 6.45am and 8.00am.
Evening: mostly between 7pm and 8pm.
