Can anyone tell me the carb value of fresh cherries?

I don't think they have one! I finished DAFNE on Friday and I think because their GI is so low, you'd hypo if you injected for them.
Hope that helps,

Thanks to both Anita and Clare. It's 2 years since I did DAFNE, and they don't appear in my carb counter. I was a bit concerned, as I like them and tend to eat a lot when they're in season!! Sylvia.

Hi Sylvia, I find the supermarket websites really helpful for fresh food carb values as they give the nutritional values for nearly everything they sell. Sainsburys is especially good as you don't need to register your details before you can view the products. Hope that helps

I have just finished my 2nd Dafne course and can confirm that you don't inject for them - although I guess if you eat a whole punnet you might want to reconsider that.

I think it's useful to remember that the DAFNE 'rules' about whether you inject for certain foods might not suit everyone. for me, eating cherries I'd inject, and if you buy a punnet from the supermarket it will probably have the nutritional info on the back of the label - look underneath the lid for it.

DAFNE also says don't inject for nuts or pulses...I know that if I don't then I'll be high within a couple of hours! I just use the carb value on the packet label and treat them like any other food. I think the amount might make a difference though - as a veggie I'm going to base a meal around lentils or have a bowl of cherries, not just one or two!
