Hi Daniel, and welcome to the forum...............

If you have any specific questions then fire away, dont think anyone who uses the forum could go through the whole curriculum though.........

There is a free online carb counting course offered by Bournemouth Diabetes and Endocrine Center HERE..........that can get you up to speed with the main points, and then if you want you can come back and ask some more specific questions about your control you can..........

Being only 10 months diagnosed your pancreas may still be producing some insulin, so keep that in mind, you may only need small doses...........

What insulin regime are you on and what are your doses................. Wink

G'day Daniel,

I'm from Australia also. Welcome to this forum.

I believe your priority ought to be to find a Dafne course. It is worth making the time. The carb counting etc is most useful in the context of Dafne,

Once I did Dafne things began to fall into place.

thats good your into the swing of things already.........i dont know if as a member, you can use the blood glucose dairy on here, try and see if you can through the DAFNE Tools tab at the top, you can then input some results if you want to ask questions on them...........

How are you with recording your blood glucose, and can you change doses comfortably.......?

We all find it hard eating out, but I suppose the more you do it the better you become, and if its only on special occasions, then hey, its OK to let loose every so often..........

It seems you are in the best position you could be in without DAFNE training............

Any help on readings or problem areas just ask...........

Hey Daniel and welcome.
I'm sure you will find DAFNE absolutely wonderful - I know I have.
As for you coming from Australia I'll be in touch as I am making plans to move / emigrate there in the next year or so.
