Thats really interesting thanks. I had a large spag bol for dinner last night. This is a meal i usually have problems with. I done the 3 dose split. But it wasnt that succesful. Thing is with me is that for my evening meal i am very sensitive. So take a 40% QA reduction. I think this is because i am very active during the day at work. And do a lot of walking to and from. Yesterday i did work but just for a few hours and drove there. So not very active day. But for dinner i still reduced. (Possible should have give the full dose) i have had the same dinner tonight and have not been very active today so gave the full dose split into three. In 30minutes will be 4 hours after i ate so i shall see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Your advice has been amazing and given me so much freedom. Something that the healthcare proffesionals were unable to do. Thankyou |

I know the feeling at work, Friday was supposed to be a watch the camera and take the rolls off the machine, but as usual the previous shift fell behind so it was me who had to speed up, more stress so a planed day was changed, had to correct at mid morning since by breakfast BG was 7.8 at 8 it was 7 to low I expected it to be around 10, took 1:50 CP no QA at 10 it was 8. |

You have just ensured that you will never be on my Christmas card list Youone. I love Pizza Express, but my closest one is 16500 km away. I now have a craving for Pizza Express and I can't do a thing about it until my next visit to the UK which is years away. Any more of this nonsense and I am leaving this thread |

On closer examination I'm surprised with the maximum BG that I had after the meal.Because I've done my eating of large CP meals this way most of 20 years I never really gone deep into the BG readings, I saw when on was on the Dafne course some people in high 20's. Now I'm in a more relaxed environment these are the BG readings Before meal BG 8 Meal estimated CP = 23 Ratio is 1:1 10 QA taken at the start of meal 7pm 8 QA taken @ 8pm At 12 pm BG was 12 took correction of 2 QA Looking at the figure 12 this seems low for a meal of 23 + CP Later I did a 5 hour reading the BG was 15.6, higher but still a low increase for meal amount Corrected with 3 QA Since I was watching this closely I did a 3am BG which was 10 This was a reasonable drop in the time from the meal The BG at 8am was 7.3 As I've quoted above the rise of the BG to only 15.6 to me is as good as the end result I felt good at the meal and the next day Conclusion total estimate of CP was 23 Total QA taken in 3 + 1 split was 23 |

Since the Dvla set the target to 5.8 before you can drive I've changed the way I look at things driving to me is too important to lose. Work etc. |

Personally I find it necessary to up my QA:CP ratio when eating more than 10CPs at a meal. |
