Hi there, looks like you have your mealtime ratios spot on as the BG levels seem to return to pre-meal levels come the next meal time. What is worrying is the huge difference between bed time BG and waking BG. For BI to be at the correct level there would be no more than 2 units difference between the evening BG reading and the morning BG reading. With such big drops that you are experiencing - without setting the alarm and testing at 2 or 3am you have no idea whether you have been suffering hypos and just sleeping through them as some do (i know i have). I would suggest a) reducing your BI down by 2 units and b) setting your alarm at 2am to test BG. I assume you are on lantus as you only inject BI once a day - when changing this type of insulin it takes a little longer to see changes take effect (where as when changing Levemir the changes are seen more quickly). Perhaps wait 2 days after changing to correct again - but still set the alarm at night to check BG. Better safe than sorry! |

Reducing ratio sounds like a plan, see how it goes over next few days. There is also a pattern of BGs below target (wed/thu/fri/sat) just before lunch...which could indicate that breakfast ratio needs reducing too!? |
