It is very puzzling to look at... try not to be disheartened though. Keep working at it. |

thanks for the reply. I should have said that I'm testing for Ketones and not showing any. My main area of suspicion at the moment is that my insulin is inactive. When I finished the dafne course, I got all my insulin pens, put them in a clear plastic box and put them on the bottom of the fridge, in the salad drawer - my feeling now is that it's too cold for them there, and that it's made my QI ineffective, so the lantus is in effect doing all the work. I took 20 units of QI last night and it hardly affected my bloods at all. |

I'm glad to hear there are no ketones. |

As you suggest, the cold drops to the bottom of the fridge and your insulin may be too cold. |

Hi guys, just thought I'd give a very early update. It looks like things are better today, bloods at lunchtime were 5 and after carb free dinner were 7. I think possibly my n/r was compromised and the lantus was doing all the work. I'll come back in a day or so to confirm. Nice having the backup here, hope I can pay it forward soon. |

I'm on lantus and novarapid and store it in the middle compartment of the fridge door as per Dafne instructions. The information leaflet enclosed with both N/R & lantus say to store them between 2 - 8 celcius & not too near the freezer section or cooling element (where ever that is ). I agree with Garry that cold does drop to the bottom. Good to hear that your problem was resolved. |

thanks all. In retrospect, I think it was my Lantus dose - I've upped it to 30 and things seem to be grand now. I don't really understand why 22 was fine for the DAFNE week and it's gone up now, but the main thing is that things have resolved themselves. Is 8 units a big change? I'm not really used to adjusting doses, so maybe it's a minor thing, and I just think that an adjustment of 8 is a bigger deal than it is. |

Sorry it has taken me 4 days to get round to the promised fridge check. |
