I have a bit of a dilemma, regarding rice cakes! The label says that 2 rice cakes would equal 1cp. I generally only eat 1 at a time, so don't inject qa insulin. However, every time I eat one, my bg levels do go up!

Does anyone have any advice? Is it possible there are 'hidden sugars'???

According to this:

1 regular cake is 7.3 carbs I would round this off to 1 CP depending on my BG before, if less than 6 I probably wouldn't inject.

Just my 2p Very Happy

Thanks, Phil. Maybe I'll try injecting next time.

they say you can avoid injecting for 1CP or less but its not mandatory.......it purely for convenience.......

what kind of change in BG do you observe with 1 rice cake...?

It goes up about 2/3, so 1u would probably sort it out. I just don't like injecting when unnecessary, as I seem to be mega sensitive to it.

also depends on when you want to have the snack, you could account for it before or after in meal time doses......
