Just wondering whether anyone has used Orlistat as a weight loss drug.

Started taking this today and my BG increased considerably between breakfast and lunch even though I had used a correction dose at breakfast. Don't know whether this is just 'one of those things' or whether there is some relevance to me taking the tablet this morning.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

i took that about 2 years ago, it didnt effect my blood sugar though. But it does cause an uncontrollable laxative effect which can be embarassing even when you consume little amounts of fat. Doctor put me on reductil after that which stopped my appetite completely but it did drop my blood sugar because reductil is related to anti depressant.
I hope you have some luck with your xenical Smile

Thanks Tony! BG levels have now leveled out again so must have just been a rogue test at lunch time on Monday. I too used reductil and lost a great deal of weight using it but it was taken off the market early last year and since then my weight has, unfortunately, been on the upwards slope AGAIN!! Just into day 3 now and so far I have not had any problems with the orlistat tablets - fingers crossed it stays that way and the weight starts to drop off soon Smile
