WOW, thats a lot of information..............

I think that your PM BI dose is nearly there as you have been holding steady, however your 4 am test suggests you drop first then come back up for 8:40...........so there may also be some dawn phenomenon taking place also..............some more carb free evenings then some 3, 4, 5 am tests to see exactly whats going on overnight, but as i say you might be neary there already.................

When you get up you dont have any carbs/breakfast, yet your numbers rise, this would suggest you also need to increase your morning BI, you should only try and tackle this dose when your happy with your overnight dose.................when your BI doses are right, your insulin/carb ratio should fall into place..............I suffer from dawn phenomenon and I find that not having carbs for breakfast results in my numbers rising, as my liver continues to dump glucose, when i have carbs, this stops and my numbers go down till lunch, i know from personal experience that eating is the last thing on your mind when numbers are that high, but its definetly something to consider when your numbers come down.......

what advice did the DAFNE folk give you when leaving.................

Are you comfortable increasing your background insulin and testing through the night, its a pain in the ass, but once its sussed it makes life so much easier...
