Bit of a vague, and likely over exaggerated, report isn't it?

I think there's some hidden truths personally. Dogs are lovely creatures.

My labrador used to sleep at the side of my bed and when younger, I was prone to night time hypos. The dog would waken me up and one time he actually nosed the twix bar towards me that was lying on bedside cabinet. I could always trust him to look after me when I asleep. Thanx Max Razz

How did he not notice his toes were being eaten? seems a bit far fetched really. Unless that is it was all dead flesh etc and he couldn't feel anything there.

Once had a hypo while dog sitting my brothers dog while I was asleep. She was great also, if overly protective over anyone trying to get anywhere near me while I was out of it. Makes you think though, if a dog can smell a hypo/your BG, surely there is a chemical reaction going on which can be measured which could be used for none blood needing BG tests surely!

I seen this article when it happened last year....................

the guy was quite lucky actually, he was morbidly obese and couldn't actually feel his feet, which is quite common for obese folk, diabetes was present, undiagnosed, infection set in and the dog, with its acute sense of smell got to work, he was quite lucky actually, it could have went septic and killed him, and now he has the diabetes diagnosis he can start treatment...........

whether the dog wanted the rotting flesh or actually knew it/they had to be removed to save his owner is a mystery..........
