Scientists are currently working on a bionic pancreas, seems like a more automated way of diabetes management. It's 3+ years away but I'd certainly like to give it a go.

I agree with you - I would love to be on the UK trial - as there will be one, but I suspect that our beloved NHS won't be able to afford it except for a few cases - my counter argument is it is far more cost effective to spend on a device such as this rather than spend a lot more on putting right complications further down the line.

Never mind a bionic pancreas, I would be happy with a real time CGM on the NHS. The hba1c and control could be so much better, like SimonC said reducing costs in complications down the line.
