I use the Aviva Expert Meter for testing & dose calculation. I did a test and the meter showed a reading of 9.9. I forgot to enter the carbs I was going to have for my meal so I switched the meter off and did a second test about one minute later using the same finger. This time the meter gave a reading of 12.6.Obviously this is a significant variance with the consequence of a difference in the dose of insulin taken to cover the meal. |

i think a mmol or two to be out, i would was hands and test another finger and just go with it.... |

It's quite common to get readings that are about 1 mmol/L different on consecutive readings. Blood glucose meters need to be accurate to within 20% of the true reading, so the first reading indicates that your true result was between 7.9 and 11.9. |
