I use an Optium Xceed for ketone testing, and as a spare so always have a few test strips. (Accu-chek batteries don't last long after the low-level message and don't want to be stuck, even though it requires a bit of estimation for adjustments) |

I use the freestyle optium for ketone testing. I test my BGS with the PDM of my pump. but before pumping used the freestyle optium meter for BG testing too. |

I also have the Xceed, which was provided at the DAFNE course, quite useful when ill, that's the only time I will use them.. |

Optium do testers which test blood glucose but at a cost of about £20 for 10 test strips GPs are not usually keen to prescribe the strips |

My GP happily prescribes the ketone strips...never had an issue in almost 12 months of having the optium meter! |

I use the Optium Xceed for both usual blood glucose tests and ketone tests - like VickyP I have never had an issue getting strips off my GP. Postcode Lottery!! |
