Hi all. I wanted to know if anyone else has two hypos round a meal time. If I have a hypo within 1 hour of a main meal, I tend to have another about 1 to 2 hours after I have eaten my meal. I wondered if anyone finds that they have to reduce their QA for the meal they eat after experiencing a hypo. This does seem to be a pattern for me. Please help.

Its not uncommon, I think I have experienced this before............

I suppose it all depends on why you had the first hypo, essentially you could be dropping even after you have given the 15g of quick acting carbs......which would mean your next meals dose would end up being too much........

what have your bg been like before the next meal, so after the hypo.........?

If your hypoing before a meal, not good, look at your previous BG and the ratio of insulin you used
I don't know your BG for this advent so I'll use this example
Lunch BG was 8 had 8CP's matched with12 QA ratio 1.5:1
Dinner BG was low 4
If you stuck to the same ratio at Dinner you would be in a hypo

Next time reduce your ratio from 1.5:1 to 1:1 for lunch check your BG before Dinner
If its OK reduce the ratio for Dinner and check BG
Since this would be change to what your doing take more BG tests ,but only correct after the 4 hour one after your QA
Its always best to be a slightly higher BG that's constant than hypos
Once you've got the BG the same and constant you then start to bring it down to your target with the Dafne techniques
One more thing when do you take your BI insulin
Is your bed time BG the same as your before breakfast BG ?
