Warwick

As promised here are my BG diary entires-not been keeping them as up to date as I'd hoped but it gives you an idea of what I am doing and BG results

Any guidance much appreciated!!

I find I tend to go low after HIIT exercise or long distance walking-need to readjust for this as I then have extra to relieve the hypo then go high-you can see I yo-yo a fair bit

Cool. Thanks for that. I should have told you that before bed readings are important too. Sorry about that. If you can start recording those too, that would be excellent. I'll take a look at this overnight and see if I can see any patterns.

Readings to record:

Before breakfast, lunch, dinner and bed.

Hypos, and the amount of carb taken to correct (usually 2.5-3 CPs)

Before exercise and after exercise, and if you can put in the notes column the duration and intensity of the exercise, that would be great.

Also the amount of carb taken before, during and after exercise. I often have a 750 ml bottle of make-your-own-from-powder Gatorade during running which for me works out to be 4.5 CPs.

Any snacks between meals that are more than 1.5 CP.

Any correctional doses between meals - e.g say you feel a bit odd, you take a reading, find you are in the twenties - record the amount of QA insulin you take to correct this.

Cheers,
Warwick.

Hello again,

I have shared my diary with you - look at the shared diaries link to the top right of this page. I often learn better from examples than from theory. You can take a look at how I am recording my readings, and then use it to decide what readings you need to record.

Cheers,

Warwick.

Hi Vicky,

Just confirming that you are on Novorapid and Lantus. Is that correct?

Thanks,
Warwick.
