Checkers for skiing-low temperatures

Hi

Having just left a checker in my car overnight and it now won't work due to the temperature can anyone help me and suggest a checker that will work skiing? I recall mine nit working before when out walking in the snow in this country so am concerned once up a mountain!

Hi J,

Could you keep it in an inside pocket? I'm sure I read about someone with Type 1 trekking in the Arctic or Antarctic somewhere..... it might be worth ringing Diabetes UK Careline for advice (0845 120 2960) - though I feel a bit naughty suggesting that when you've posted on the DAFNE forum Embarassed

I have had no problem skiing, just keep meter in an inside pocket. The goggle pocket is ideal, your insulin will also need to be in an inside pocket. Have a good time

I've had several different meter and they have all worked when skiing.
Keep it in a rucksack or in your ski jacket and it should be okay.
In 8 ski holidays I have not had a problem.
