The only time I ever do a correction dose is with a meal or if I had a high BS first thing in the morning.
I would never do a correction before bed.

This morning I had a high BS in the teens and did a correction of 2u QA. Jelly babies were at the ready Laughing .

My question is how would I enter a 2u correction without a meal time dose in my diary?

Just enter the date and time with 0+2 in the QA box your BG reading , select where you injected it and select 'Correctional' from the 'Type' options.

What would you do if you were 16.5 before bed?

leave it and see what you are in trhe morning.its maybe something you had eaten previously which your stomach is still digesting and your insulin hasnt sorted out yet. for example if i have a baked potato a couple of hours before i go to bed my BG at bedtime is higher than normal but it tends to correct itself by morning.

When I say before bed, I mean after any food and insulin has expired...............

I would correct without fear of hypo........some may not be comfortable however but something should be done about a 16.5 before bed.....

On Saturday I went out for an Indian and ate the meal about 08:10pm ish then It was 01:10am - 17.2 before bed. I didn't correct for a fear of going hypo.
On Sunday morning it was 07:56am - 13.7. I did a correction of 2u and no food (which is why I wanted to know how to enter a correction dose with no food)
then 09:24am - 2.9 - had 5 jelly babies
then 10:39am - 6.4 - bfast

You shouldnt go hypo if you correct with right amount, even overnight, providing your long acting is right. Cant see why you would go from 13.7 to 2.9 in an hour and a half with only 2 units correction.?
