My usual:
Mini spring rolls (if delivered & usually have 2 x of these)
Chicken or prawn fried rice
&
curry sauce
or
chicken in black bean sauce
&
fried rice

My routine
1. Test
2. then eyeball the carbs, inject & eat.

Problem is that I usually eat the spring rolls then I like to have 1/2 of the main portion then just pick at the other half as I am starting to get full by now. Problem is I never really know whether to inject for all of the carbs eaten in the first half then what to do if I pick at the other half.

Just wondering what you would do regarding injecting.

Thank you in advance for any replies Smile

Hi,

Being a big, strong boy I would have no problems eating it all and so would inject for the whole amount........

As its a takeaway it would always be a guess at the carbs, all be it educated.......if I couldn't manage it all I would top up later on with some CPs....

I would do my estimate of the total carbs and then inject half of my insulin immediately, doing the rest an hour later (this was advised on my dafne).
That way you can reduce your second "dose" if you didn't eat all the carbs!

or you could work out carbs then see what you eat then inject straight after.

Hi Whiskysmum, I always, always inject after eating! My eyes are always too big for my belly especially when it comes to takeaway! I would also weigh the rice if I was at home.....eating out is different and really is an educated guess but I weigh/measure everything at home! Have you got the carbs n cals book? Its got some good take-away carb measurements in, I'm a chow mein girl and it's pretty much spot on!
