Has anybody on DAFNE, with BOVINE NEUTRAL and LENTE insulin and using DAFNE. Any remarks , as I cannot get any stable B/G's other than first thing in morning. I have high readings during he day with on average 5-6 doses of Neutral and one a.m. dose of Lente.

Any comments

I am not familiar with that insulin. Are you on it for specific reasons?

Do they provide a quick acting meal time dose together with the longer acting background dose....?

hI novorapidI I HAVE BEEN ON BOVINE FOR AROUND FIFTY YEARS!!I think my insulin has quitea different characteristic to the modern types. My quick acting has abut a two hour time lapse and tails off slowly, unlike I believe an hour or so to react on food consumed ,thus the reasonably high B/G from breakfast and mid morn snack. to lunch to supper, but to confuse the issue ,from supper thro to 8am in morning my B/G is down to 4,5,6,b/g.
Thanks for interest as I was the odd one out when I attended the DAFNE course and I am 75 years young!!!

I am duee to attend the Clinic end of of Nov Where I feel like asking about changing my short acting insulin, but am very aprehensive on possible reaction after so many years on the old style bottle insulin
