With how my BG numbers have been going recently, I have been thinking about changing my QA insulin to a different one. I currently use Humalog. So far I can't really say that I've come across anyone who have done this while on an artificial human insulin regime, only know about those changing their BI insulins (myself included) so I thought I might ask...
Have you ever changed your QA insulin? Which ones were you on before and after? What made you decide to change? Did you see any benefit from doing so afterwards?
Thanks in advance for any responses!

I haven't personally and I think that although there may be small differences in humalog and novorapid the main one considered may just be price or availability or just preference from the clinic.
My team wouldn't have any objection changing me over if they agreed it would help....
I would say go for it, even if its just to see what differences there are......

My numbers are showing up green today so I don't think I'll make the change just yet if I do at all.. still going to test while the goings good.
The reason this came up is because my BGs really throw me sometimes when the correctional units take me down by 5-6BG per 1QA... that's such a drastic drop so I wondered if changing it would make it less - or would it make my ratios less difficult to work out. With the better numbers I've been getting the past few days though, hopefully things will start working out better and I can get some freedom back for all my hard work.
Still would be interesting to find out if any one has made the QA change though. The BI change I did years ago made a noticeable difference and it would quite interesting if there are any differences in the two commonly used QA insulins. I've been on Humalog for as long as I can remember but I might ask my parents if I was on anything else before that. It wouldn't surprise me if I wasn't.
I wonder if it's worth comparing how people respond to their QA (like me with 5-6BG) but considering finding the balance can prove quite difficult, what someone might be saying may not be the case really for them because they're still working out their needs...
If or when I do make the change, I will definitely say.
