Initially I would be extra aware of potential hypos... perhaps set an alarm every hour or something to monitor yourself and eat as and when you think it's best to.

Considering the timing of the original post, I hope everything worked out okay. Sad

How did it go?

Not the only one. I messed up once before, I gave 20 unit of QA instead of Background, plenty of snacks that day Very Happy

If you often forget (I often have to think hard) there is a lid called Timesulin (http://timesulin.com) that remembers the time you last injected so you can check. Novo have also done the same with the new NovoPen 5 which even tells you how much.

Hope this helps and not too many hypos.

So far so good! Woke up with BG of 3.6 but doesn't lantus take 24 hrs to kick in so I'm guessing from 6pm onwards today I'll get the problems?
I have the timeinsliun pen top which I was using and then I got moved to lantus and they don't do one of that make!

Hi,

Which pen/lantus are you on? I'm on Levemir so no idea about it, but just looked on the Timesulin site and they do a lid for the Lantus Solostar pen (http://timesulin.com/how-it-works/pens).

Lantus doesn't take 24 hours to 'kick-in': http://www.dafneonline.co.uk/hbook_topics/202

It should start working within a couple of hours according to the DAFNE handbook (I don't use Lantus) and has a length of action of up to 24 hours...so keep an eye on your BG levels during the day today and you should be relax a bit more later on.
