I know that as diabetics we have to watch our weight as insulin is an appetite stimulant and hypos require us to eat more. But I have been trying to get more 'toned' with more exercise and managing my BG better and I am only seeing improvement where I DONT inject insulin? Is it harder to loose weight and tone muscles in injection sites?

Good question! I've asked this at annual reviews and on my DAFNE course, but either no-one understands the question, or they just can't give an answer. People always assume I'm talking about the fatty lumps (lipohypertrophy), but that's not it.

I think, from my own point of view that you're right - it is harder to loose weight from injection sites. I can't get rid of my belly despite losing weight from everywhere else!

That's a really interesting point, I have a big belly through not being very active after losing my job plus insulin resistance but the rest of me looks slim. I am just about to take up the gym and eating better so I will be curious to see where I lose it (if I do hopefully!)
