In the morning my sugars seem relatively ok but by lunchtime they are elevated. I have the some breakfast each morning and last week was doing QA of 6 units. This week i tried uping to 7 QA but have had 3 hypos so far (since monday morning). On sunday night I walked with a friend for 6 miles and thought perhaps this had an effect on my hypo the next morning (which occured within 2 hours of my QA inj). However, the same happened on tuesday - no exercise on Monday night nor alcohol and this morning I hypo'd again (although I did have a glass of red the night before). Question: should I stick with the QA 7 for tomorrow or drop back down to 6 and if I drop back down to 6 and my sugars are elevated again prior to lunch what is my next step. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks confused. Rolling Eyes

Hi Tracy - I did a blood test before walking which was 13. I had no food before walking but did 3 QA. When I had finished walking I was 4.2 so I had a small bottle of orange juice. I thought there may be an impact the following day so wasn't particularly surprised when I hypo'd but was when it happened the next day. On the third day my sugars were 6.5 2 hours after QA but bearing in mind I still had approx 3 hours left to run I panicked and had 2 small choc bars prob worth 2 CP. In retrospect i should have waited to see what would happen rather than guessing I would hypo before lunch. Today however I did the 7 QA again plus a correction of 4 as my sugars were 16.8 this morning. I came down to 11.0 at 11am but was back up to 13.9 at 1pm. To be honest my consultant says that I should have this down by now as i graduated in Dec 09 and has given me until August 12 otherwise I will have to go on a pump.
