Hi
New to the site but thought I'd share this with you. I looked at my Dafne CP book (white) to find the CP content of a toasting muffin. Found an entry for muffin under the alpha index which said it was 5.5 CPs so took my QA based on this (on a 2:1 ratio). However after having a hypo 2 hours later i questioned the CP content so I went to sainsubrys and they sell 2 different types of white toasting muffin - one packet has 2 CPs for one muffin whilst the other, sainsburys basic white muffins have 3CPS so I was surprised that my book said 5.5. I'm also surprised that this could mean the difference of 1 unit of QA (if on a 1:1 ratio between 2 variations of the same food). I checked the book when I got home and found another entry under Bread for an "english" muffin at 3CPS. I'd effectively taken 11 units of QA when I should have taken 6 - no wonder my BG dropped like a stone.
Just wanted to share so that others are aware that the "muffin" entry in the white Dafne CP book must be for a chocolate muffin and not a toasting muffin.

if you have the packaging you must always use that first, the carb book is only a guide..................
where did you find the 5.5 because I cant find it in the online version, an english muffin, toasted comes in at 2.5CPs............

Found it in the Dafne white CP list book - page 46. Yep - would normally use the pack but had frozen the muffin from a larger pack and had thrown the pack out I'll need to keep a list of the things that I eat that are perhaps listed differently from what I'd call them i.e. I've never called these muffins "english" muffins before ! Yep - you learn something every day! Also plan to get the android Dafne app as I'm think this will be really useful for accessing the online version of the CP book whilst on the move.

Yes. finished the course on Friday so still getting the hang of it all. The book is convenient when it's sitting on the table ....guess I'll have to learn how to work my new android phone to download the online one The online carb list seems to be more comprehensive and probably more up-to-date so think that one is the one for me. Also don't know what " thw 506" is ........
