Hi there, Is anyone else out there hit by the same problem? I am troubled by comfort eating between meals, and graze without being aware of it. An increase in blood sugars leaves me with more low moods and so the cycle continues. I attended Dafne last October and have had a 3% reduction in A1c since, but need to improve more. I have quite a few diabetic complication so need to get things sorted. Any advice?

Hi again, they say a problem shared is a problem halved. Several times today i have come back and read my earlier post and thought what others reading it would think. I realised that I am the only one that can sort this! Today has been an eye opener for me. Hopefully future posts will be less of a moan! Dafne has given me the tools, and it is up to me to use them.

Hi Krf,
It's good that your're trying to sort your sugars out. I love sweet food, and really like baking but it isn't a habit that I can enjoy without the pain of a high sugar and all the symptoms that go with it! DAFNE is Dose adjustment for NORMAL eating, so we should be able to have a treat now and again when the time is right but the reward of having level sugars on days when we don't snack is that you fell 100% better (not thirsty, irritable ect). Keep at it and good luck!

Thanks for the comment. It is so true! It takes me back to the Dafne course, where talking to someone that has experienced it is so helpful.
Cheers

you just need to get into a good routine to begin with, one that will give you the results you want, you can then start to expiement with different treats and at different time, but slowly though. Eventually you will know your own limits and what balance of carbs/insulin works best for you..............
you can literally eat anything..............
the problem with snacking in between meals is the 'stacking' of insulin, and also it buggers up your insulin action. Having an uninterrupted 5 hours if the most ideal situation for us all, and the healthiest................but remember, its OK to treat yourself now and again............
