am having a problem with my foot, just underneath the toes, it is red, hot and swollen and hurts. been to a&e no bones broken, been to GP got antibiotics(5 days ago)he says it is an infection, but i havent cut or grazed my foot, but still the same, phoned my diabetic nurse but no joy. anyone got any ideas?? its really starting to annoy me |

Athletes foot? Should be easily fixed with some cream bought over the counter. |

You should check with your diabetic nurse or local PALS team ( should be a link on your PCT's website) how you get an appointment with your local Diabetes Chiropody team. They should be more than happy to see you and check your feet. It most likely has nothing to do with your Diabetes however because we are at 'increased' risk of foot problems it is better to get it checked out by an expert. My local chiropody team has always been keen to emphasise thst you should see them if you are in any doubt, better to waste their time with an unnecessary appointment than ignore a problem that could become more serious if left untreated. It is part of the 'standard' treatment you should receive as a Diabetic from yuor local Diabetes Team, so make sure you do ! |
