Hey Luke, welcome...............

as you seem to be new at this, or at least, the online diary, its hard to give good advice, as there seems to be missing data, like, evening BI doses and morning BG readings........

I would say that your increase from 18 to 20 on your evening BI was correct, and it seems to be reasonably successful, but I would recommend you carry out some more tests on that dose, some 3am readings, and making sure you get a fasting BG reading too, this will confirm its correct, or give you the information to further adjust if needed.

I also noticed that you are changing your ratios by the day, and at different times of the day.......the DAFNE principals teach you to change one thing at a time, so one ratio, test for 3 days, evaluate the results and adjust accordingly until the dose is correct. This is only way to effectively adjust your insulin, systematically.

I have also noticed you are not correcting your high BG readings, or not recording them at least, but its probably that your not correcting..........is this correct? and if so why?

The next logical step after you have got your evening/overnight BI correct is to get your daytime BI dose right, this requires you to have a carb free breakfast/lunch/dinner, so as your only observing the BI dose doing its job..........you can then adjust if it not doing its job of holding you steady.........

Until your background insulin is right, it will be a constant struggle with your QA insulin and your BG results will make no sense......its vital you get it right, or nearly there at least........ Smile

When did you graduate from DAFNE? How did you find it........

I look forward to hearing from you........... Wink
