Help needed, ketones but bg in range

Hi, I currently on holiday and have come into a problem. Woke up today with massive toothache, went to emergency dentist and have absis and broken wisdom tooth. Been given some antibiotics and pain killers to treat until infection gone.
I tested earlier and blood glucose high with three ketones, so started the sick day rules and have basically done the job of reducing the ketones and bg. However my bg is now in range but I still have one/two ketones(on borderline). Im drinking loads of fluids to try and flush them out, I'm going to check my BG and ketones in three hours time again. Its late saturday night and should be enjoying holiday, but all I have to show is ketones and sore mouth que violins lol.

Any help would be appreciated,

Hi Deano,
As well as using your sick day rules (well done), you probably just need to have some CPs with QA insulin to help to clear the ketones.

Cheers carolin for your advice. On the road to recovery now, think you were correct as I do not think I was taking enough cps on board. However I have learnt from the experience, so should be better prepared for my next holiday from hell lol
