So by the time I got past all the european and Australian DAFNE references I found ADDENBROOKES Cambridge on Page 13.....Still nothing to write home about as it was a history thing. So maybe a thought to get this site higher upthe Google chart...which I suppose you already have in mind!! would be a good idea...but maybe a better support system over the next comming weeks from our guests to see what they think"!

Can't find a problem as yet from a simple user and it still ticks my boxes...will get the wife to view it tomorrow if I can and see what she says..

Good work guys

Thanks to Robert for being our most active (and only!) poster so far, its great to see you are testing the site out.

With regard to getting the site out there - I'll certainly be investigating ways of getting us to the top of the Google charts as current Graduates may indeed search for us there. I'll also be sitting down with selected members of DAFNE Central (those that were at the meeting where we all met in Sheffield last year) to discuss ways of getting in touch with current and new graduates as well as those who are interested in the course. I'm hoping that we can get in touch with all the lead educators of each DAFNE Centre, and they can pass on the site info as well as centre code to all DAFNE Graduates and HCPs in their area... Watch this space!

If anyone has info on how to rise up the Google rankings, or other means of getting the message out there for the first release in February, let us know here!

Thanks again Robert for your testing so far!

Hi

eventually managed to log on. The site looks great and is easy to navigate. The only suggetsion I have is to use a different colour font on the naviagtion bar as the green is difficult to read against the orange background.

I will send details of the site and how to log on to a few DAFNE Educators and hopefully they will feedback also.

Are you going to add more content from the DANFE Handbook and the CP list?

Well done Simon and Mark!

Thanks for the feedback on the colour of the navigation bar at the top Gill - I've changed from green to blue to hopefully make the text more legible after a number of users raised this. Let me know what you all think of the change.

Yes - planning on adding more content from the handbook - it would be good to know which sections are in demand from the Graduate/HCP community!

Hi Simon

I've just updated my settings. On the settings page I am still listed as a DAFNE User; whereas here in the forum I am listed as a DAFNE HCP. Could I be listed as the same in both? Also any chance of a 3rd category - DAFNE management or DAFNE admin as I'm neither a User or a HCP.

Thanks
Gill

Hi Simon

Thank you for your message 12 Jan 09 at 1254A. I am using this reply system as suggested to ensure my understanding of the system is on line! The amplification of the terms forum, topics and posts is welcomed and to my mind justifies some entry onto the 'heading' page by way of an introduction so that others may also benefit from this clarification.

Many thanks for your prompt replies!

All,
With regard to rising up the google rankings, its not that easy. Google operates a reference ranking system. What does this mean ?
Basically the more other websites reference your site via links, the higher your ranking. So to get oursevles high up on the google list we need
to get as many people as possible to add us to their website. We will gradually move up the listings.

The only other way, is google 'ads' i.e pay and since we are a voluntary setup thats not really an option

Hi

Just offering some feedback - hope this is the right thread. The site is very good but I have a few minor issues. Firstly when you reply to messages the black box around the message is quite severe. Also, it says you can use "BBCode" to reply to messages. There is a link for more information and I think I get it but some people may be less confident and techie terms like BBCode might intimidate them. Maybe it could be changed to say something like 'please click here to find out how to add formatting'.

Its taken some time to get through the hangups and hick ups i've experienced, probably through my own ineptness, but now I'm up and running I'm impressed with the site and am grateful for all the hard work put in. Well done all.
