Hi,

I'm Simon and I'm the co-creator of DAFNE Online. I'm 24 and was diagnosed with Type 1 in May 2006 whilst at university in Sheffield. I took the DAFNE course a year later, also in Sheffield. I found the DAFNE course to be not only a great tool for managing my diabetes, but also a fantastic opportunity to hear from people who had lived with diabetes for a lot longer than I had. That's where the idea of DAFNE Online came from - I wanted the feeling of a community that supported itself long after the course had finished, and realised that the Internet was a great medium for this.

When not developing/administering DAFNE Online, I enjoy Rugby Union (more recently watching rather than playing as my fitness levels have dropped now I've started working life), drama films, video games (xbox 360) and socialising. Oh, and cooking curry - which I can now fully appreciate thanks to DAFNE!
