NICE Guidance on Diabetes

We have been asked to publish the following:
The updated NICE quality standard for adults with diabetes was published on 18 August 2016. The standard is aimed at commissioners and sets out a concise set of prioritised statements designed to drive measurable improvements in the quality of diabetes care. The DAFNE programme has officially supported the new standard.

So what does that mean if you don't live in NHS Land ? Well you can read the document here and what it contains is a load of stuff that would be a good idea if the NHS actually did it i.e letting us manage ourselves in Hospital and being given structured education within 12 months of diagnosis. However its just ideas and is not mandatory so all we can do it hope.....
