We have received a requests for versions of DAFNE Tools that could be used on a mobile phone running a web browser. Many mobile phones these days are capable of doing this since they all have internet connectivity built in and are being used more and more for 'mobile' applications.

The problem is each type of phone has its own web browser which tends to be something produced by the phone maker and not a standard web browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera or Safari. If we are going to produce a mobile version of the site then we are going to need people to help us test it on their mobiles. We don't have the resources to be able to test on a number of mobile devices ourselves. Thats where you all come in.

If you are interested in a mobile version of the site, please respond to this topic. Please also indicate if you are prepared to test the beta versions as we produce them. If you are prepared to help test the site on your phone then in your post tell us the make and model of your phone.

For example , I have a HTC TYTN II ( o2 call it an XDA stellar, T-Mobile call it MDA Vario III) that runs windows mobile 6. Simon I believe has an iphone, so we have two potential platforms covered but there are lots and lots of others. So all you nokia, sony ericsson etc people get posting.

OK... I have an HTC S620 with Windows Mobile. I get the phone as part of my broadband deal, and can't say that I'm exactly a whizz when it comes to getting the best out of it, but I'd like to give it a try!

I have a Nokia E51 which has web access and a screen resolution of 240x320 and would be happy to trial any mobile version of the website and report my findings.

I have an iPhone and i use a programme called Islet that i downloaded. Its good and easy enough to use.
The only problem is that you cant really see patterns - the graphs suck and when you "email" the data to yourself, it comes in an unreadable mess.
I'd love to see and iPhone application that you could enter the info in and it would sync easily with an application on your desktop....
Maybe....

I also have an iPhone and the mobile version of the site, whilst cut down, displays pretty well on it. If you let us know what features you'd specifically like to access (currently you can search CP lists, view the forums and enter new BG results) via the mobile site then we can work on that, or a native iPhone app.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi. I downloaded Opera Mini onto my Nokia 6500 slide, and find the mobile site works perfectly well. Thank you

I have a Blackberry Bold 9000. It seems to work well, quite easy to use and read the display. It is easy to add diary entries. I will try the other functions.

Hi, I find the mobile version very useful (especially when working out my CP's). I'd love to see a built in graphs page as this is one of my favourite features of the main site as it's encouraging to be able to see clear trends and patterns at a glance.
I think that the idea of an iPhone app is fantastic I'll be one of the first to download it.
Looking forward to future developments
