I'm confused ..I decided to cook some noodles and I noted on the packet ( 85g) that there was 10g of carbohydrates per 100 gram which should translate as 1 cp yet I note from the carbs list that I should allow 7 cp per 100g packet of uncooked noodles ...where am I going wrong?

I would go with the packet as manufacturers have to be accurate in what they state as far as values are concerned. Some will give you values for raw and cooked so make sure you pick the right one. Misleading information could, if it caused a problem, leave them open to all sorts of legal issues. I personally always use the manufacturers values. as there ar so many different types of pasta the Dafne book can at times only generalise.
